Two B-day Parties or One?

My son's are 11 months and 8 days apart. Their birthdays are 23 days apart. My eldest will be turning two and my youngest will be celebrating his first birthday. Do I hold two parties or just one? If I hold one, I will still do the first time eating cake thing with my youngest. If I hold two, how do I handle the gift situation? Will people feel that have to buy two gifts? Is that a big deal? Will they want to buy for only one? Which one? They are clueless now, but I'm sure my oldest will get it next year. Do I just share parties this year? Do I do it every year till they complain? Opinions, please.

My boys are 11 months apart and 1 week, i do their birthday party together but on their actually birthdays, they get a cake and a gift.
