I had my first child on the 16 january 2001. He starts middle school in september but it feels like it was only yesterday that he started play-group. He is now at the stage where he will not give me a kiss good-bye in front of his friends, where has the time gone.

I am in the same position as you my son is in 5th grade now he is 10. He prefers to stay after school to play with hes friends, he will not give me a kiss good bye when I drop him of at school. Everything I tell him gets him mad he wants to be independent now.

I'm not sure, but I miss it! My son has developed his first crush and now says things like "Mom, that girl is so cute!"...I'm definitely not ready for this! LOL!

Aww my son doesn't care about kisses and hugs, he is so loving and caring. He will pop in the room while he is playing to come and give me a kiss and tells me he loves me. Time really has gone so fast. He was my first born on the 3rd Jan 2001. I was 16 when he was born, but I am really happy I had all 3 children young. I am proud of each and everyone. We all live in the Uk in Manchester :D

I have had to get used to my son not wanting to give me a kiss goodbye, too! We had a nice routine when I would drop him off at school, but we are definitely not wanting any displays of affection from mom anymore - at least not outside the house. My older girls (16 and 13) were always okay with a kiss/hug, so this must be a boy-thing.

My son James was born on the 15th january. He is just about to start year 3. Thats what we call it in Aus.

But i know what you mean, feels like he just learnt how to walk yesterday. The time has gone very fast and i have loved every minute if it. :)

My son was born January 18, 2001. That day is just around the corner and when I think of these last 8 years it seems like it has gone so fast. Second grade is great for him, he really enjoys it and is a wonderful big brother to his three younger siblings. I am just floored at how fast everything is going. People always told me once they get in school time goes so much faster. I never believed it until it happened.

Middle school at 7 years? Where are you located? Looks like we have different grade levels. Here in the US that age is called Elementary School. I do know what you mean about time flying by though. I look at my daughter and can see the young lady she is becoming and it makes me proud and sad at the same time.
