My guy is starting Preschool in September. Anyone else going through this? If so how are you dealing with it personally? And how are you getting your little one ready?

My son has been going to pre-school 3 days a week for 3 hours each since September and he LOVES it. He's gotten so much better in patience and using his words when he's upset it's great.

We live in Texas and our public schools won't take kids until age 4 which is then pre-kindergarten, then with 5 kindergarten and then 1st grade.

So after the summer he's going to pre-k 5 days a week. I can't wait to see how he likes he. He's made so many new friends already.

I'm working on potty training my daughter as well so she can go to pre-school after the summer. She will be 3 in December. I have to pay for the re-school program though.

My daughter started in August, she goes Mon-Fri in the afternoons. She was so ready to go she had no problems adjusting. The hardest thing has been naps-most days she doesn't get one and by evening she is one cranky girl!

Charlie started preschool when he turned 3 in January and starts back this year this coming Monday. He got to start mid year because of jis Down Syndrome.

My son started in April. Here in the UK kids get 5 free 2.5 hour sessions a week from the first term after their third birthday. He starts full time school in a year's time. My son was ready to go. He needed more stimulation than I could provide. He's really missing it now that the schools are shut for summer holidays. I find things easier with him in school. I have a daughter who has just turned one. I found I could spend quality time with her that I wouldn't have been able to do when her brother is at home. However, I find it hard not to know what he does for 2.5 hours a day. The teachers give us a brief run-down of the day but they don't tell us everything. I've had to ask if they are learning anything in particular. But Calvin loves school, so I have no worries about him. If your child loves to play with other kids, it shouldn't be a problem. If your child is a bit shy, it might take a bit of work.

yes! our public school started a 3 year old kindergarden and my daughter is so excited. it makes her feel like a big girl to get to go to school with her brother and sisters. now i on the other hand am feeling a little sick to my stomach about the whole thing! but i'm sure she'll do fine, she's a very sociable child.

My little girl is going to preschool also in September. It's only 3x a week for about 2 1/2 hours a day. I took her there and let her get a feel of what it will be like. Also, we are going to the open house. We talk about how much fun preschool will be and how she will met all kinds of kids. I'm hoping she will deal with it well.
