anyone else havin diffcultin potty training?

I know how you feel. We had minor success with our son, got him to pee in the potty a couple times, but thats it. Our problem is he wont tell us he needs to go, he tells us after he's gone. Our son is in shcool though, his teachers are trying to help there.

yes I'm in the same situation you are he doesn't have a problem going pee in the potty when he is with me or around his potty trained cousin but when he comes back from a weekend at his dads it's a different story I have to start potty training all over again all I can think of is he will really potty train when he is good and ready a lot of people tell me boys are harder to train so I don't know

My serenitie is potty trained i still put pullups on her at night but as far as during the day she is done. I am so proud of her going out and getting her a nice toy for doing her part.

thx everyone for ur help larry just came home from his nanas/daddys been there a week n gues they started workin wit him again to cuz hes been home $ couple hrs n so far no accidents well keep our fingers crossed! thx again!

let him go without pants in the house. take him to the potty every half hour. he will start to go on his own. The hardest thing to do, but take away diapers. period. pull ups at this stage are only for bed. my boy was so stubborn. I also gave him treats everytime he goes on the potty. Use whatever your little one finds special. For some kids it's stickers. for my little boy it was popcorn.

Everyone told me that my girl would be potty trained before kindergarten, b/c "Have you ever heard of one that's not???" LOL WELL it was the day before Kindergarten that SHE decided to make it happen. She's the oldest and most independent, also Head strong ;) Her brother 20mos younger and sister 14mos younger than him were all potty trained at the same time. When the youngest got it FIRST the other 2 followed as they didn't want to be left behind, and she was 18mos old!!!! I feel for you, I was terribly frustrated.

ahh bless you i had the same proble with my daughter it has taken her a year to get potty trained the best thing we found where big girl nickers in your case pants , and we sat her on the pottey about 30 min an hour after a drink so she chould understand she needs to go after a drink and gave her lost or praise and a sticker on her chart , xx

potty training isn't easy. and some take a lot longer than other's. My child was doing ok(still had accidents but at least would make it once in a while). But recently hit a regression stage and started to decline using the potty. I spoke w/ a friend(nurse works with a pediatric urologist) who said not to give up. If they are saying they dont wan tto go stop asking instead start telling them it's time or perhaps change your incentive. We started by using stickers which worked for a bit then became a bore so we started placing differnt book selections for reading. For boys I've always found giving them targets works great and #2 like all kids just comes with time.

its hard. i just got my boy potty trained. He is still in a diaper during naps and bedtime but when he finally got into it he was dry within a week. I think what helped the most out with us was letting him watch his dad go and he will only go pee standing up he never wanted to sit down to pee. Maybe if you would try having him stand.. it might be a lil mess at first but its worth it in the end... I hope that helps a little. ! Good Luck

im still potty trainin my boy he 3 and half get him to choose a potty and some pants and tell him if he uses it he will get a reward like youll read him a book or youll play football dont punish him if he has an accident good luck x
