hi, my daughter is nearly 3 ,and for the last 6 months now at least once a month she has 2-4 nights of complaining of a sore bottom( she wont say if its front or back) its only at night time! been the doctors and he said she might just be faking it!! i really dont think she is because she seems to be in real pain with it and doesnt want my attention! anyone been thru anythin similar? any advice would be appreciated!!

Hi I have a 51/2 year old daughter and we have been through with what sounds like a very similar problem. It started when she was around 2 years old that she would wake up once or twice a month in real pain on her bottom. After months of this and plenty of doctor visits our g.p. suggested that it was a yeast infection. She reccommended an over the counter ointment and it worked. Sinced then we haved watched her diet closely and thankfully the problem has become more and more infrequent. We also noticed that if she drank even the smallest amount of sprite or any fizzy drinks we would have a night of tears and pain. Unfortunately I don't know if she will grow out of it but now we know how to solve the problem when it arises. Don't know if this is of any help but hopefully it might be!
