How many hrs before sleep is juice cut-off time?

My daughter has 4oz of juice in 4 oz of water with breakfast and water and breastmilk the rest of the day. She nurses right before bed and sometime during the night and we've had no issues. She's also been fully trained for a while.

i never give my son anything before bed cause he is potty trained, but after 5pm he only drinks water especially after he has his teeth brushed...

I would think as long as you don't see any negative affects to her sleep, you could give it to her that late. My concern with any type of sugar before bed is the affect it could have on my daughter's teeth. I was a pediatric dental assistant for a while and I've seen some pretty crazy decay from juice or milk before bed... even watered down. As long as I make sure to brush her teeth well with toothpaste before bed (nothing but water afterwards) eating and drinking before bed doesn't seem to give her any problems with sleep. But every kid is different! 3 hours seems like you're being very cautious, and that's a good thing!

my son goes to bed at 9, so i normally stop the juice around 630 ish. after that he can just have water if he gets thirsty

My kids have access to a drink at all times even in bed they have sports bottles with water in! I'm currently potty training my 3 year old and even with his water at night he has had no night time accidents, and, I don't know which country you live in but we are having a heat wave in the UK and the risk of your child becoming dehydrated and the consequences that that can have are far worse than having to change and wash the childs bedding in my opinion! x

It will matter still. Juice has sugar which can effect her sleeping. Even just a little. Thats also why we do water at night as much as we can since milk breaks down into sugar as well.

Hi I Dont Give My Kids Any Thing But Water Before 10am And Not After 5pm And This Goes For All Sweet Stuff, Give It A Try. My Son Ask For Milk All The Time So I Put 1 Mouth Full Of Milk To A Cup Of Water He Doesnt Know The Differance Try It With The Juice Then It Wont Matter..

they say to stop giving them juice 3 hours before bed and if they are potty training not to give them any thing at all before bed. My daughter isn't training yet so I only give her water and try to give her milk but it can be a struggle sometimes
