Hello,
I am a mother of a 13 year old daughter, 2 year old son, and 1 year old son. I have chosen to discontinue vaccines for my children, This seems to be a very touchy subject, I have experienced a series of emotions when discussing this with other parents no matter what their beliefs may be and find it very interesting to hear the different decisions that have been made concerning the well being of their children! Any Opinions are welcome. Thank you!

I think that vaccinations are a very important. When my daughter was getting hers i was very worried because of what you hear. I did some reseach of my own. This is how i look at it. When kids get vaccinations they some times get more then 1 in 1 vist sometimes up to 3. I didn't like that idea at all. I had her docter only give her 1 shot at a time and didn't give her different ones in the same day. There little bodys can't handel it. I then made a appt to go back in a month to get the other. It is a trecky subjuct and this is how I handeled it. Everyone is different. Good luck.

My daughter was 2 pounds and in the NICU when the doctor was chasing me around to get permission to give her vaccinations. I was very concerned and did not want her to receive them, let alone when she was still fighting for her life. I talked to my uncle who is a doctor that I trust. He stated what could happen if she got measles and said he would rather her get attism, than the measles. With a worried heart, I allowed the vaccinations. However, I did have them attain them based on her corrected age. I also did not allow the pediatrician to give her more than one dose at a time. So far, so good. I completley understand parents that do not give vaccines!

Oh Nina Im so very sorry , however, am very excited that you have seen progress with your son. The answers are out there, unfortunately not from the pediatrician I agree. The research will have to be done by you and "they" wont make it easy. I understand. I find your story heartbreaking, and interesting. Thank you so much for sharing. I will add you to my circle of moms and we can bounce our findings off of each other. Take care and godbless you and your precious little boy! You are doing a wonderful job by taking those steps with the holistic doctor.

This is an extremely touchy subject for me as well.. My son is 2 1/2 year old and he still isn't talking. We have been racking our brains trying to figure out what is going on. Speech therapy didn't help. We are constantly working on trying to get him to use his words all of this with no results. However, he does understand. If you ask him what something is he will point to it. Well we took him to a Doctor of Natural Pathology, unable to find answers from the medical community, and come to find out he had high levels of Mercury in his system. I did some research to see where he could have gotten this and come to find out that in childrens vaccines is an ingredient called Thimerosal, this is a Mercury containing product. We went back to this Natual doctor and began to do a heavy metals detox ( for mercury). He has done this 3 times so far, and has said " Cat" "Dog" "Outside" "All done" "Up". So.. i have some serious thinking to do about putting that poison into my son again. I know exactly what the Pediatrician will say... That there is no proof.. But my son is proof enough for me.

My brothers ex wife, was all for getting her son and daughter their vaccinations until she got on this kick that the government was against us, and stuff like that. So now my nephew who is 5, and my niece who just turned 3 hasn't gotten any vaccinations since 2 years ago. Now because of this, they can't attend public school, but her beliefs aren't related to weather or not she thinks they will help or not. They are solely based on the belief that the government is out to get us. But my brother wants them to be vaccinated, but there is nothing he can do. How about that one?

I am very pro-vaccination. I have 4 children and all are fully vaccinated, except for the flu. I feel not only does vaccinating my children protect them from these diseases, but it also helps protect the children who cannot be immunized for health reasons. My 4 year old almost died from whooping cough when she was 3 weeks old -- 5 weeks before she could get the vaccine. I had every intention of vaccinating here before that, but that also added to my belief that vaccinations are very important to the health and well being of our children. Now, do I believe we should give them so many at one time, and also the combined ones like MMR? No. My biggest concern with that is that if a child has a reaction (which fortunately mine never have) then how would you know which one caused the reaction?

I was very anti-vaccination. I know it's not a popular stance however the idea of injecting my child with a live poison seemed - unthinkable. That said, I decided to do some research and the truth for me was there was a much higher risk of death from these seeming mild diseases than any potential harm from the vaccinations. It wasn't an easy choice. I tossed and turned for months and spent hours researching. But I'm at ease with my decision.

I think that vaccinations are a very important part of my children's health. They help them not get certain things like chicken pox, rubella, measles, and such. I personally think that children should get vaccinated, but i also respect others wishes as yourself who discontinues them for whatever reason. Now if you ask me about me about the flu shot Heck NO i will not get NOR will my kids. I have heard to people say that they never have gotten the flu up till they got the flu shot and such.
