Is my kid just a wild monster who knows how to push mommy's buttons or is she normal? at meal time, she still eats her food if she's starving, but if not, she'll throw it, dump it on her head, or wrip it up into a million pieces and squish it between her fingers! When is this gonna stop???!!!!!!!! This has got to be the biggest thing that bother's me about her. I can handle the temper tantrums....I just ignore them, or chuckle and carry her out of the public place, I can handle NO being her favorite word, just meal time!!!

My daughter never really threw food, she mashed it in her fingers when I started giving her bigger portions and stuff, I remember scrubbing ground spaghetti out of my carpet a few times, but it didn't last very long. I recently put her back in her high chair verses sitting at her lil'tykes table. She liked to get up and run around and resist dinner, but now she is put and strapped in (straps should come with toddlers at all time, haha) I sit with her facing out our front window as she watches neighbors scurrying by and whatever noise, animals, or cars are going about thier business. Its a good distraction and she is interested in it...every toddler is nosy "whats that mama? why mama?" Try it, its refreshing on a nice sunny day (rare, but cozy indeed)

My son does/did the same thing....however, when he starts to throw food, I draw the line.  I take it away from him....and don't give it back.  It may sound cruel, but it's not.  If they are full enough to be distracted away from eating, they will be fine until the next snack/meal.  And after a few times, he/she will learn that u mean business!  Just a suggestion...all kids are different!

If he starts throwing it i take it away... then he cries about hungry hungry so i give it back... then he eats a bite or two and begins the distruction again... this is the only thing i can't control... other than that he's pretty good... almost no tantrums just a lttle stubborness now and again..... any help with this issue would be great

most of the kids at this age r like that, its just that level of tantrum differs...u can try distracing her during her feed time, like pplaying her fav cd, music or flipping thru a story book or playing some games!
