In Australia the government has made the swine flu vaccination available to young children, however they have not made it compulsery for every child to have it.

I am unsure weather to have my 3 year old vaccinated.

I had my 3 yr old and 8 month old done a couple of months ago, I did LOADS of research on this and decided that the pro's, for me, outwieghed the cons. I did not want my children getting sick or being responsable for getting someone else's child sick. Niether of them had any readtions at all. Not even a slight fever. I live in England so it's free (paid by tax obv)

The excuse that it isn't tested enough is valid but then again niether was the polio or rubella or any other jab when it first came out but people still had it done. My opinion is if everyone said that we would still have many fatal deseases circulating the world. =)

We really struggled with deciding what to do. After talking with one of the pediatricians at our kids see she said she was getting all of her family including her children vaccinated w/the h1n1 shot as she has a good friend who works in the CDC and she felt comfortable with how the info and testing was going on it. So based on that and other considerations we got our 3 & 5 yos vaccinated and they had no problems. My husband and I also got the vaccine without any issues either. It's a tough decision so I commend everyone for what you decide to do.

Have a fabulous day,

I had both my children vaccinated, and I got vaccinated. My kids are 3 and 5, and neither of them had a reaction to the vaccine, other than the crying that they got a needle-stick. I brought mini-marshmallows and the needle stick was instantly forgotten.

i got my 3 year old son done a few months ago as i think if he got swine flu i would never forgive myself as its so dangerous for young kids.I got the jab myself and i was so sick after it but there was not a bother on my son and he had to get one dose then go back in 3 weeks for his next dose and he was fine both times.I'd advise you to get it.
