My 19 month old keeps taking everything off, including her diaper. She prefers to go around naked. I have another daughter who only did that a few times when she was about 9 months old. Is this a normal thing that is happening with other kids of this age? How can I get her to stop?

lol my son does that as well, hes 2, he prefers to be naked and free. I would to if I could get away with it. I think this is normal for children to do. I know quite a few toddlers that like to be naked. All my kids have done it and they just grew out of it. Mind you the only time they would strip is when we were at home so that why I din't really do anything about it.

I don't know what the solution is but my 2 year daughter does the same exact thing. Its aggravating sometimes too because she'll strip down and then pee on the floor. We've been potty training but its not going so well, she would much rather pull her pants down and pee on the floor LOL. I know she'll eventually stop doing that but my poor carpet is probably tired of the steam cleaner. You could try like jumpsuits they are a little bit more challenging for them to get off. I think this is just something they go through, and in time it will pass. I hope, Good Luck.

my son will be 2 next month and I have this problem too with him. he pulls down all his clothes and wants to run around naked. I have tried several diff pajamas and he wins each time. except for 1 way that I learned he cant take off is a zip up pajama and putting a shirt over it kinda snugged. he tries and tries and cant do it. I do this every night now to keep him from taking off anything and I can enjoy good rest yaayyyy..so happy this worked. try this, this is my first child so I gotta think around him ajaja

my baby does this too. she will not leave clothes or a diaper on. ive tried everything...onesies , zip up pajamas backwards, diaper backwards, nothing works! at bedtime i check on her and shes naked and her crib is wet. I dont know what to do. especially when im trying to get ready to go out, she will be all ready and then 5 minutes later i have to dress her again. diapers are expensive and i go through about 15 a day( no exaggeration!) does anyone have any suggestions?

lol, my son recently learned how to put clothes on and take them off he changes his clothes countless times during the day. When he has taken his diaper off i have been lucky they have not been stinky diapers however he did jump in my 1 year olds bed and take her diaper off for her and it was stinky so everywhere she sat she left her mark. Its something new they have learned and are excited to take their clothes off themselves and be independent. I think they will grow out of it when its not something new any more. Otherwise if you fingure out how to stop it let me know i can't keep track of whats clean and whats dirty my laundry load has gone up so much since he started this. I wouldn't worry about it only being your daughter. i try to laugh about it so it wont stress me out.

My daughter is the same way. When we are home I let her do it because she is doing better potty training without anything then she does when she has a diaper on.

Ya my 2 yr old is the same way!! When shes home I just let her be and try to keep a pullup on her. In public its only hard to keep shoes on her, Ihave no prob with that in the summer but she does it in the winter time too. My son is a week away from 1 n I cant keep pants on him lol he hasnt figured out how to take the diaper off yet but Im watchfull!!!

my daughter used to love naked time, I was lucky in that she never really figured out how to get her diaper off. Now she won't let me take her clothes off. Its a fight every morning and evening to change to and from pajamas, casue she doesn't want them off, especially her shoes.

My daughter does the same thing. If she is not tired when we put her to bed ... everything comes off. We started putting her pj's on backwards. Now we here "ohoh mommy back!!!" LOL She also does it during the day. I think that it has helped with potty training. She will not pee or poo when she has the diaper off. She tells me that she needs to put a diaper on. She was doing well with potty training until we put a cleaner in the toilet. She doesn't like the colour of the water and now she will not go potty on the toilet. Not going to fight her on this. But I think that her taking her clothes off has helped her understand the feeling that comes along with peeing and pooing.

My 25mnth old daughter does this too, has been doing it since 18 months. Im at a point of as long as we're home and (now that shes toilet trained..) as long as she doesnt poop or wee on the carpet deliberately, then go for it lol.
I tried everything, duct tape, nappy on backwards, onesies, blah blah.. everything i could think of. Now i ignore it, and shes starting to do dress ups with her clothes. on and off kinda thing. I hope she grows out of it.. dunno what else to do lol

I think this is the phases that they start learning to explored about them self, their body parts & how it works and indicating too that they might be ready for potty trained..My 25 months old daughter was on this stage at the moment and we on the potty training and learning how to dress up herself,(she insist to wear her undies than diaper & a tutu at day time)...it a bit frustrated when you just put clothes then turn around and all gone but I'm having fun....

My daughter does this all day everyday.. I decided to just let her and start potty training. Now she goes on the potty 100% of the time when shes naked but if I make her wear clothes she has accidents. When I stopped forcing her to wear clothes during the day she started keeping her jammies on at night and when we have to leave the house, she removes them as soon as she gets up in the morning though. I would like to call it a phase but its been going on for a couple of months now. Good luck!

It's no big deal. It's something they go through. I say let her show her independence. It's not hurting anything.

My son does it and we love it he loves it. we say are you nudey !! and he gets excited and does a nudey dance and covers his nipples and says niiiippppppliiieees..
Our family tend to walk around in nickers and my hubby and I sleep nude .. Both my boys have naked time every day before there bath from a young age and I know lots of other parents that do the same I think its great that he feels so comfortable. All too soon he will prob be another mindless drone in a suit and tie on his way to work .. embrace the Nudey!!

my son aaron also does it when i take him up stairs for a nap. I had great fun yesterday as he took of diaper off and wrote on his wall with poo all over the bars of his cot and all over his face and body not plesant thing to clean up. he also has a thing about the clothes label which is why he takes them off i think

My daughter 20 months is doing the same thing. At night the solution is a zipper sleeper and a diaper pin. You pin it up by the zipper so they can't pull it down. Hope this helps and who cares if they run around naked during the day right?

I think its something they go through, it may be a pain, but it does help them to learn how to dress themselves.

Noah does this. We are keeping a onesie on him at night- he has made horrible messes upon waking. I think this did start a great trend to potty training. He really enjoys taking his shorts and diaper off to sit on the potty. (trying to stay positive) We use cloth diapers during the day and he can't unsnap them (FuzziBunz) that helps daytime undressing.

It is deffinently something that they go through. Everytime my daughter is alone for more than I minute I come back and she's completely naked. When she sees me she tries to hide her little private area. I try to keep some kind of shorts or stretchy pants (something that doesn't come off easily) while we're at home. That is the only way I can keep the diaper on. Everytime she does take the diaper off I imediatly put her on the potty so she will understand when there's no diaper she has to use the potty. It's a work in progress lol. good luck

I think it's a phase she's going through? is it hot where you are nowadays?

Put her in a onesie? If you're potty training then onesies are a pain but they work
