My daughter is just 11 months (1-28-08) and I've been told (by my mother-in-law) that I should start getting her to sleep 1 time a day. She is a good napper, an A.M. nap for about 1 1/2 hrs. and a P.M. nap of about the same. She goes to bed at 7:00 and is sleeping until around 8:00 a.m. (give or take). I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do. I don't think I can keep her entertained enough to stay awake from 8:00 to 12 or 1:00. And the way we've raised her thus far is if she is tired put her to bed, a well rested baby is a happy baby. Another problem is it completely scewed up her eating schedule. I guess I'm just looking for a little advise or if anyone is transitioning from 2 to 1 naps.

I agree with everyone else. My son barely naps and I am lucky if he'll go down for 1 or 2 twenty minute naps a day. He's never liked napping and will just lay or now sit there and refuse to close his eyes. Enjoy it while it lasts!

I totally agree with Nina, if your baby's tired let her sleep whats the harm? My son is 11 months and naps as much as your daughter does and almost everyone I talked to said their babys did two naps until they were about 2-3 years. I think you should enjoy the naps well they last! lol

I read that baby's cues. If he is tired you know and they need sleep. Two naps a day is perfecly normal at this point. If your system has been working for your family why change?
