Thanks Kim, I think their cute too!! Can't imagine having to deal with all the issues you have been dealing with - all my girls were born very healthy!! But in saying that I'm sure you have good and bad days although everyday having a daughter(s) is a good day!! And they say that special people are given the challenges in life ~ as they are the ones that can cope with them - you must be one of those special people!! That's great to hear that your little miracle is on the road to recovery. xx

Kylie-

She was born with a rare birth defect called cloacol extrophy. it's so rare, they aren't sure what causes it. In a normal umbilical cord, there is three vessels; in hers, there was only two. Her bladder was split in half and external, her bowels were external, and a small part of her intestines were external as well. She had her first surgery when she was 6 days old to have her bowels placed back on the inside and to have a colostomy made, which hopefully she will be able to have reversed around 4 years of age. She had her second surgery back in november and that was to repair her bladder and place it back on the inside. so now she pees just like any other little girl. =) she has was missing a toe and part of her heel on one foot was not formed correctly. Just looking at her, you'd never be able to tell anything is wrong! We've been very fortunate with great doctors and everything has gone the best it could so far. She may need surgery again, but at this point we're unsure. She's my miracle baby =)

Hi - don't worry I'm fairly new to all this online stuff too!! But am finding Circle of Moms helpful even though I have three girls (Ebony 9, Tahlia 7 & Neve 1) the fact that people post different questions/replies gives you a whole new angle & ways to tackle issues that might arise with your little girl :) She looks like a cutie!

hi!were u told u were having a boy?she sounds like a nice suprise though!my friends been told shes having a girl,so fingers crossed cus shes bought everything pink!!!that must have been so worrying for u when your daughter had surgery.wot was wrong?will she need more?
