Hi I am the mom of 2 - my daughter, Hadley was born Jan 28, 2008 and I have an almost 5 year old Connor, born in December 2003! I work full time, as does my husband...so we are quite busy. I would definitely like to know what to feed my daughter, even though I went through this a few years ago. She gets constipated and strains to have a bm so often, that never happened with my son!!!

Hi Elizabeth, Wow, we are on the same boat with our Daughter suffer constipation. Guess what my Mother inlaw told me few months ago she told me most of us Capricorn " always gets constipation". That is true because my Mother inlaw Birthday is 8th Jan, My daughter Calista was born 1st Jan 2008 and me 16th Jan, My Dad too 21st Jan. My Dad told me that when I was a baby I was very badly constipated and can't make poo and my Parents took me to Hospital to take out and etc, Wow now I didn't know that astill My daughter suffered from it, I told my Dad, that I don't know why Calista can't make a poo for 3-4 days, and her poo was hard not soft poo then he told me that I was the same as Calista. Then he said we MUST take her to Doctor(Pedi) So my hubby and I took Calista to her Pedi(Doctor) and He told me that Calista not sound too bad, so he recommend to us to give her duphalac syrup LACTULOSE 3.3 g/5ml naturally rstores intestinal balance. This I used 5ml or 10ml- if she weight at 10kg used (10ml) into her warm water 60ml first thing in the morning before her Formula. Pedi-Dr told me that it can used everyday with warm water or in Formula. And Pedi-Dr gave me another PEGICOL 6.9g sachet, powder for oral solution one packet a day only for the treatment of chronic constipation and faecal impaction. This one you put in her warm water or tea or Formula, it's taste not sour or bitter. Used it for 1 week and see her poo will became softs and working better then you stop for 1 or 2 days astill if she can make a poo again softs. Then slowly stop and if her poo is hard and sore constipated again starting all over all. I give my daughter alot of Veggies, Fruits yoghurt, warm water and tea during the day and one fruit juice mixed half of water at night with her supper. We are from South African and Deaf Parents of our darling Hearing daughter. Please tell me more about how you do with your daughter problem. But I prefer you to go to your Pedi-Dr to find out about it, and let me know. Warm Regards Carmen.
