I knew to expect it but I am still getting my feelings hurt. I thought I would stop breastfeeding when my daughter turned 1 but we have continued. I hate the snotty comments I get from family, friends and acquaintances. I know I need to not worry what others are saying but I have not been that strong all the time. That's all, thanks.

What the other moms said! Your nursing relationship is between you and your baby, not strangers at the mall and not extended relatives. You are doing right by meeting her needs and I promise... none of them will be nursing in high school!

Keep going!!! I am a firm believer of extended breast feeding! ITs good for your baby and it wouldnt hurt to educate those around you about it! I plan on doing 2-3 years with my next one and pumping for my almost 4 year old to keep up his immune system...most other countries breast feed for 3-4 years sometimes more! Keep going, its the best thing you can do for your baby...our country is just jaded and uneducated about things like this!!!

The World Health Organisation recommends a MINIMUM of two years breast feeding! It's worth noting that this is the WORLD Health Organisation ... not the third world Health Organisation!
I'm feeding a 5yr old and a 1yr old. It's NORMAL to breastfeed your child! It's NOT normal to formula feed your child!
