I have an 11 year old, a 15 month old, and one on the way! We are finally getting a boy, and we're really excited! We weren't planning on getting pregnant so soon, but apparently God thought we were ready, so we'll have our first (and last) baby on August 31st.

I haven't read the conversations, but here's my story: like you I have a 15mos boy and I'm in my 19th week. We wanted them close, so it wasn't a surprise. I'm not completely aware that we'll have 2 babies at home in sept, but I'm excited. I know it's gonna be a challenge, but I have family and friends to help. My labor was alright but I pushed for 4hours, so I'm kinda looking forward to see what the next will be like.
Whatever your fears are, I just hope that you have the support of people you trust, it's a huge help! good luck!

I have 2 girls, 17.5 months apart, my youngest is now 14 months and my oldest is 31 months (she'll be 3 in August). They definitely have their good and bad moments and sometimes I want to run away from home (haha) but I'm really glad I have 2 girls so close in age. Its hard sometimes, yes, but in the end I'm glad that I had them close. They definitely have a love/hate relationship like most all other siblings but in the end they will always have each other. We plan on having a third baby but we're going to wait till around the time my oldest starts school, I don't know if I can handle 3 at home all day :) This way I also will get my separate time with each other them and yet they'll still be close in age. I think the hardest part of having them so close was the last couple months of my pregnancy, I was so exhausted, but I had a 16-17 month old toddler to run after all day and then once my 2nd daughter was born, it was definitely a transition and everyone had to settle in and adjust, it just all takes time. I always tried to involve my oldest in everything whether it be feeding or throwing away diapers, whatever it happened to be.. also with them closer in age I didnt get much as far as the jealousy issues since my 1st was still really young when I had my 2nd.. Things do get easier though.. although my oldest is well into her terrible twos and some days she really pushes the line, she's a stubborn little one for sure, just like her mom :)

Hang in there, it will all work out and you will get through it, just take it day by day! Good luck and congrats to all the expecting mamas :)

my daughter is almost 15 months and I am due in 4 weeks with daughter #2. I am a little freaked out at the thought of 2 under 2, but I know this is a blessing. I think I will handle it with a lot of wine! j/k!

wow! firstly you all sound like super mums!!
i know im not alone now. i was excited and i still am but i keep gettin those scary thoughts thinkin can i handle this? i had a really bad labour with my 1st (46hrs) i couldnt walk for 2days after the birth due to epidurals. i felt weak and helpless.
im just dreadin goin through that again then bein up all night and having very long playful days. i know i will be ok once it happens i just find it very scary right now!! i think it may just be the hormones as we did plan it but when it happens it all hits you at once

I really dont think age gap is such a big hyp that people make out... It is good to spend time with each of your children but you learn to do it in your own way with each of them.. I have a 3year a 14month old and also 3month old. All girls and love them to bits.. They love each other to pieces and suprisingly have never been jealous over each other... Best of luck with your pregnancy you will love being a mum of 2...!

I was concerned at first as I wanted to spend more time with my daughter but now i can't wait they will be great little play mates!

My son is 14 months old and will be 15 months old on the 28th of this month and his sister is due any day now! Her due date is April 16th! I think it's best to keep them close together, that way you may not encounter as many jealousy issues...

I have a 15 month old at home now too - and am expecting my second boy to come out now within 5 weeks. I heard a lot of good and bad expectations I should have, but if you feel ready you need to work iwth that. As the date gets closer you will probably have the same type momments you had with the first of "am I really ready for this " (and trust me as the date gets closer and you are having more and more trouble picking the first child up with your belly you will hve more and more of those moments) I can say do not listen to all the oh it will be good becasue, or it will be bad because. Go with your gut. Only you know what is best for you and your family. My son has a tendancy of being a little rough so about 2 months ago, we started him with a stuffed conductor telling him it was his baby, and asking him to give kisses to the baby, rock the baby, put the baby to bed, and eventually he even asked me on his own to put a diaper on the baby like he had. It was a great tool and although he is still rough with the stuffed baby, with real ones he tends to be a lot more gentle than he use to be. Good luck!!

My first daughter was 16 months old when I got pregnant with my second daughter, at first I was scared they wouldn't get enough attention separately and that they would fight being so close in age! Emma was 26 months old when Kira was born, she was never jelouse of her new sister because we made an effeort to include her in everything she helped pick out everything for HER sister, went to Dr apt with us, saw her on the ultrasound, etc. They are now 3 yrs and 1 yr and are best friends they love each other so much, and really care for each other! I think it's because they are so close in age, it was hard trying to breastfeed a newborn while potty training and other things like that, but we made it work! good luck

hey, my daughter is 14 month old and i'm 23 weeks gone with my next, i also have 2 sons aged 4 and 7, my daughter will be 18 months old when this little one (another boy) is born.

in one way i am dreading it as they will be so close in age and i know its gonna be hard work but i'm looking forward to it as they will be close because of the small age gap
