I have used the Gerber Graduate puffs for my son that is now 2 and my 8 month old son and both liked them and they were easy for them to eat because they dissolve very quickly in your mouth. ( I tried them myself, they dissolve quick! ) They also like the yogurt drops Gerber makes.

i agree with alison. my son has toast for breakfast, fruit and an avacado sandwich for lunch, vegetable fingers and soft meat (i.e. chicken, pork, fish) for dinner.

My daughter wouldn't eat food until we worked out she just wanted to feed herself. She loves toast crusts, fingers of steamed veg like carrot and also banana cut into fingers(won't eat it mashed). She also loves chips when we're out (without the salt). I find it scary as we had a choking episode with my 1st daughter but as long as its easily mushed and not too chunky its should be fine.

go to www.wholesomebabyfoods.com

they list what your baby can eat at what age. i just cut everything into fingers for him to hold.

I have yet to start my son on finger food, he's only 7 1/2 months, but I've read that some good foods to start out with are: Puffs, O shaped cereal, Sliced bananas, and cubes of avocado. As he gets better you can move on to noodles, pieces of soft bread, and sliced peaches or pears.
