okay i don't recall with my first her really thrusting her food after the first week out her mouth when i intorduced cereal, but little man just turned 4 months on the 25th and he has been thrusting the food out most of the time. i am not sure what to do to get him not to do that. ANY ADVICE APPRECIATED.

You can't stop your baby from doing this.. It is a natural reflex and shows you that your bubs isn't ready for food yet :-) it was worth a try... The WHO say breastfeed your baby until they're 1 year and no solids before 6 months, but who died and made them god.. hello we are the mums and as far as I am concerned do what you feel is right.

The day my daughter turned 4 months old I gave her cereal and it all came back out everywhere. The next day I tried it and the same thing happened. So I waited 2 weeks and then tried again and she eats like a champ now. So I'd say just give it a week and try again.

I got he six months from my doctor, public health nurse, and the baby group i got to called baby steps.

It's the recommendation of the American Pediatrics to not start solids before 6 months. And to continue bfing until 1 year.

I don't know about damaging the digestive system, but I agree with the others that your baby is probably not ready. Try again in a few weeks. As long as you're providing full-time breastmilk/formula, it's all your baby needs and won't starve.

Your baby isn't ready for solids yet. Giving a baby anything breast milk or formula before they are six months can damage their digestive system. You should wait a couple more months.

Ditto the other gals, you can start anytime between 4 and 6 months so maybe wait a little while longer. We are waiting for the same reason.

I'm with Shelly. All babies develop at their own rates. If he's tongue thrusting, it's just a protective reflex saying he's not ready for cereal. Wait a few weeks and try again.

Maybe he is not ready for cereal yet... I've read if they still have the 'thrusting' they may not be ready. Just wait a couple of weeks and try again:)
