I had my daughter at 35wks and my son at 34wks. Once home from hospital they caught up in weight by 2mnths old and are now chubbers. Apart from looking like newies longer there hasnt been alot of difference development ways at all. My son was 4lbs 15 and i thought he was tiny so i cant imagine what you must of gone through!

27 weeks is young. How much did he weigh?

I had my twins at 31 weeks. Harry and Charlotte were both in NICU for 8 weeks. Both are really healthy and strong now.

I was due on February 13th, but my water broke on January 14th. He was born on the 15th (4 weeks early) at 7 lbs 1 oz and 18.5 inches. The only issue we had was that he was jaundice and spent a couple of nights under the bili-lights. Most of his milestones have been a little behind, but he has caught up on most of them. His pediatrician is not concerned and even impressed on how well he is doing. His weight is in the 80%tile and his height is in the 90%tile.

My son was 5 weeks early we spent a week and a half in the hospital, that was so hard. He is above average now which is surprising to the doctors who said it would take a while for him to catch up. he was due march1st but was born Jan. 26th

I had twins born at 34 weeks on January 28. Kylie spent 2 weeks in the NICU and Gage came home 2 days after her. They were both healthy just needed to learn to eat and grow. They are now almost 11 months old and active as can be. Gage is 20 lbs and Kylie is still a little peanut at about 17 lbs.

Hello. I had my daughter Jan.4th, but she was due Feb. 9th. She's doing ok, we've had some problems with her ears and she is showing early signs of asthma, but we're proud of her! How is you son doing? Hope everything is well.

Hi there my son Blake was born on the 13th and he was 6 weeks prem. My water broke at 33 weeks and I spent a week in hospital on medication to slow the delevery down!!! Finally at 34 weeks he was coming out no matter what, he was 7 lbs 2 oz and spent 4 days in NICU...
We were lucky this time round as he was fine feeding and put on weight right away, so were licky enough to bring him home!!!
My first son was born at 36 weeks and we almost lost him as his lungs were not developed enough.... But after 3 weeks in NICU he was home and is now a kicking strong 7 year old....

My baby was born at 31 weeks on January 5th, 2009...3 lbs and 2 oz. He was in the NICU for 3 weeks and to everyone's surprise he was discharged a month after he was born. He needed neither oxygen nor medications. He did have colic and reflux for at least 6 months, but he is doing great and very healthy now. He is 11 months now at 20 lbs =)

my baby chlöe louise was born on 4th january at 34 weeks due to illnesses i had in pregnancy (symptoms of pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, hellp syndrome, and fatty liver of pregnancy ) my kidneys and liver nearly packed in had a rough time lol she was born by c-section she was in an incubator for 2 days and she was the healthiest baby in the SCBU unit just needed to get her sucking motion to drink, i reckon it was those pregnacare tablets that helped her she was there for 2 weeks, poor u 27 weeks is extremely early how was everything then? hows he/she doing now?

Josh was born 20 days early, due to preeclamsia and hypersensitivity on my part. He was by c-section after the nurses induced labor.. (19 1/2 hrs) They also gave me stadol in the hospital which lead to Josh not wanting to eat and only wanting to sleep. So he spent 11 days in the NICU and I had to wait two before I could even see him. He is doing fine now though :)

My baby wasn't a preemie. He was born at 39 weeks by a miracle.. I went into labor at 30 weeks and spent 9 weeks on hospital bedrest to keep him in.. However he was born with some birth defects (cause of preterm labor) so he went to the NICU for 31 days.

my son zak was born at 31wks.....he was in nicu for 3day on cpap but he was strong enough to breath on his own after that...he had little drama and released from hospital at 36wks...the only problem we have encountered since then was that his head shape was out as he prefered to sleep on one side it has been corrected as much as possible but is still a little wonky, he isnt quite crawling yet but can sit on his own and roll over and such. my first son was born at 28wks and is now a healthy nearly 10yr old and shows no sign of been born early

My son Rylan was born on January 5th and was 6 weeks early. He was in the NICU for 15 days. It completly sucked. He had what they call the whimpy white boy syndrome. Premature lung disorder, one of his heart valves was not operating correcetly, and he was under respitory distress. He looked so pitifll and helpless. My husband and I couldn't hold him for the first 8 days of his life and that was so painfull for us. We have 2 other children and never had experienced anything quite like this. But he is fine and healthy now. Just now 10 months old, crawling, talking a little, 22lbs ( but he was pretty big when he was born as well 6lbs 15oz) (big for a premmie) and now he is starting to get a liitle more confident on his feet. I hope he will be walking by christmas. Keeping our fingures crossed. I hope your little one is doing well.
