Baby's not gaining a lot of weight

aaawww brittni its the same here rosie is 12 weeks and 10lb 4oz they thought it was reflux and put her on gaviscon but it makes no difference she is really not interested in a bottle at all she has only jus started cryin for feeds and i think thats because i been givin her solids now as im so scared she will have to have a tube to feed her the thing with rosie is she is so skinny but very long she was 57cm when she was born very lanky and if it wasnt for the legs all her clothes would still be new baby but we have now made it to 0-3 finaly keep ya chin up the doc told me that any weight gain is good and rosie has been puttin on a steady 4 oz a week and maybe now she on solids it will get better she also drinks a bottle better now so maybe when your little one is on solids she wil be the same. good luck think its jus girls my boy was not this hard! lol

My little girl was 8lbs 8oz  and 21.5 inchs when she was born and shes 9 weeks old and just barely 11lbs.. she has a reflux problem and so in the begining before she got on medicine she was puking up everything she ate... now that the reflux problem is under control (still not fixed she spits up much more than a normal baby) she is slowing gaining weight.. my doctor said as long as shes gaining weight shes fine... I just get so sad though because everyone comments on how small she is :-(

Thanks for the encouragement ladies.   I actually started slipping him a couple of tsps of rice cereal in his bottle to give him some extra calories.  He's a great eater so maybe he's just going to catch up later (fingers crossed).  At least we're getting a ton of use out of his 0 - 3 month clothes!  We'll weigh him again in 2 weeks and see if there's any improvement.  BTW Becky, good luck w/ your little one - and to your friend too Rhonda - wow 16lbs at a year; that is tiny.  :0)

my daughter is the same she was 7lb 5oz when she was born and has only just got to 10lb 4 oz she does not like takin the bottle and im goin out of my mind with worry this will affect her later in life she is still in new born clothes we have been in and out of hospital to dietions and speach and language therapist and no one knows why she wont take it i have jes been told to keep with it and she will pick up once on solids so ill be honest i been giving her little bowls of baby rice and porrage and she loves it cant eat it fast enough so fingers crossed she has gained weight! good luck i hope your little one gains weight soon for ya i know how worrying it is. xx

Not me personally, but I have a friend who's baby was only 16 pounds at 1 year - so your little guy is on his way to making that. If doc is on top of it - don't lose sleep!

Just remember that every baby is different.  Your LO is happy and that is all that matters - right?
