Since we brought our daughter home we have given her a bath every night, we have to use soap every bath as well cause she spits up a lot, by the end of the day she has it all built up in her neck and she smells really bad.She has her bath at 9:30pm, a bottle, cuddles and then bed at 10:30.. she sleeps until 8:30am..

I started giving my little one a bath every night (soap every other night) a few weeks ago and she sleeps soo much better now! goes to sleep easy and sleeps from 9pm till 7am, it's a dream!!

My daughter gets a bath every night. It's routine so she knows when it's time to go nite nite. She likes her baths as well.

I was giving my son a bath every night part of his night time routine. The Dr said to stop b/c he was getting really dry skin! I would only use soap every other night but he was still dry! So he get's a bath every other night. He loves bath time and it soothes him so much!

I also bath my little girl every night. I use soap and shampoo every night too. After her bath we use LOTS of lotion and she hasn't had any issues yet (we've been doing this for about 3 months now). It's a huge help with the nighttime routine. She knows after he bath that she gets a bottle and then it's bedtime. It works great!!!

I give my girl a bath every evening or she showers with me. All my babies were water bubs and it does help them settle into routine.

With my first son I would always give him a bath every night. In order not to overdry his skin...you don't have to use soap all the time...just water is fine too. I found having a nighttime bath helped with his bedtime routine and he still has the same routine. He is now 2 yrs old and with my twin boys born in Jan 09, it's a bit harder to bath all 3 of them. Zackary will get his bath but I dont' always bath the twins every night. If she loves it go for it :)

i give my baby boy a bath every night and i dont believe it is overkill, babies get really dirty from spitting up and sweating so its needed.

We've been giving our baby girl a bath every night as part of her routine since she started daycare at 8 weeks - so 12 weeks now - without putting on lotion, and just last week her face got all red and splotchy and a little swollen. Ped said it was dry skin and that it was okay to bathe her every night but to only use soap every other day and put eucerin on her face afterwards. Cleared up in a couple days... Ped said it was b/c of the high humidity lately (which doesn't make sense to me but whatever). So, try it, see if it works, and then back off either soap or the whole thing if your little girl's skin doesn't like it.

I agree with Jaymi, my little girl gets a bath every night & it tells her it's bedtime too. I lotion her up every night and she is fine. I'd only worry about it if your baby has severely dry skin.

I give my babe a bath every night and she loves it! She seems to sleep better after a bath and knows that it's bed time. On the rare occasion that I don't give her one, she seems a little bit more fussy. I use Avenno soap, wash her hair every other night (she has A LOT of hair) and make sure to put on lots of lotion so she doesn't dry out. Other than that, I say that if she likes it, then you should continue!

Do whatever works! But, as PP said, I wouldn't use soap every night, it can dry that delicate skin out. If it still seems too dry you can put a little olive oil in the bath water--it absorbs into the skin nicely. I get in the tub with my baby (he gets a bath twice a week-ish, sometimes less), we have a fun time!

We do a bath every night, Willow loves it so much and it is just part of our night routine. She is too big for baby baths and we didn't want to be filling a big bath all the time so we went out a bought a plastic container designed for storing stuff under the bed. It is good because it is big but not too deep and she is able to splash around and kick and have load of fun getting Mummy all wet!

Thanks! I've been still using the infant tub on top of her changing table and it's getting dangerous, it converts to a seat but she'll have to be able to sit up well on her own for that...I'll look for what you have.

We got one of those bath seats with a ring. It attaches to the side of the tub and holds them in place when they sit up, its great for those "in between" months until they are safe in the tub without propping.

I just started bathing my daughter every night compared to every other night...we live in Florida and lately it's been in the mid 90's so I'm sure she feels sticky gross like we do at the end of the day. She is getting very strong wiggly in the tub tho, anybody else have a problem with that??

We've always made nightly bath part of the wind-down routine. My son gets eczema, so we always lotion him up after.

I give my son a bath every night , routines make for better sleep. I also find that the baths soothe him and he sleeps better. I use the Lavender bedtime shampoo and body wash then lotion, bottle and bed.

If she likes it then I would continue! My daughter hates bath time and she has very dry skin so she gets it 2 times a week...If she gets more than that her skin gets even dryer than normal...so I don't see a problem with bathing every other night if she loves it! :D Besides she has a routine she follows and knows when it is bedtime...She sleeps 12 hours a night so a bath wouldn'T have made her sleep any better that she aleady does..Oh and i do "spunge bath" Her everyday just bathtime is 2 times a week! :D
