Bath frequency?

How often do you bathe your babies? Mine is almost 4 months old and I bathe him 1-2 times a week - usually one although I'm getting ready to step up that frequency as summer approaches and he sweats a little more. Does this seem reasonable?

My daughter hates bathtime! She gets a bath 2-3 times a week..why push it? she sleeps her nights anyways..IShe's 4 months old and she sleeps 10-11 hours a night...giving her a bath everynight (which I tried) just stressed her out and she didn'T sleep her nights. So every baby is different... you go with what your baby likes!

I think that just like most things, every baby has different needs. Our son gets "greasy" hair and needs it washed every other day. He also is quite active, so he sweats a fair amount. I bathe him every day or every other day, depending.

My daughter loves to take a bath but she doesn't like the getting dressed part as much either.

Deirdre- you said you don't use j&j. What do you use?

I also only bathe Kyla every other or every third day. She loves the bath but hates the getting dressed part.

I bathe Isabella a couple of time a week. She doesn't get dirty at this point. Depends on what we have done that day we decide when to give her a bath. She will be 4 months on the 30th. SHe loves loves to take a bath. We use the bedtime bath. When we don't bathe her we just wipe her down and we always put lotion on her at bedtime. Bathing her everyday would dry her skin out too.

with our weather in Africa. i bath my baby with soap in d mornin & night.in the afternoon i rinse her with just water.thats puttin water on her thrice a day.she is 4months 7days now.i have been doin it since she was born.it keeps her flesh & clean, lookin very health.its not stressin at all. summer is on the way my friends all over should try even if it's once a day. babies sleep better & helps them against body odour when they grow.

I bathe my baby every other night. I live in Arizona and its getting really hot..Also, after the second day she starts smelling like bad milk because it gets under her chin and its not easy to wipe, or not noticable until you smell it... YUMMMMY. NOT. . :-D

I give my son a bath every other night which was recommended by health care providers while I spent his first 6 weeks in the hospital with him

I give my little girl a bath everynight and a good rub down with lotion afterwards it's a good routine to get her in she knows now that after her bath it's a bottle then bed!

That seems fine - too much bathing is bad for a baby's skin, as it dries it out. Well, according to our nurse! Also, I never use the j&j products, as they're very drying, too.

I do love bathing him, though, and he loves it too, thankfully!

Our little girl gets a bath 1 or 2 times a week. She likes the bath, but babies don't get dirty and shouldn't be washed everyday anyways.

My daughter is 4 months old and we usually do a bath every other night (when possible) with a good wipe down in between. It seems to be working. I'm sure with summer coming, it might be more often.

My son is just over 3 months and I give him a bath at least once a day. Depending on what all we do during the day is if he gets more than one. I try to give him his bath later in the afternoon closer to his bed time because it seems to put him to sleep easier and he seems to sleep better thru the night, less moving around.

From day one we have bathed our little girl now 3 1/2 months old every night at about 9pm. She settles a lot better and sleeps all night. Also we have to because she is always sick all over the front of herself.

i wanted a bedtime routine .. with a bath every night.

he very rarely likes a bath and my mum said babys don't always need bathing .. just give him a wash every morning.

so he has a bath mainly every couple of days .. so should be having one tonight maybe!

1-2 times a week is reasonable. My husband travels and is out of town Monday-Thursday so bathing by myself is a hassle. We used to do it every third day but I have now started to sponge bath him when I am home alone and he likes a bathe but really loves the sponge bath. My son sweats quite a bit so with warmer weather approaching we may have to go to every day or every other day. I do wash his face and neck with plain water and a rag everyday.

My little girl is 3 and a half months...my partner and I alternate bathing her, we bath her two to three times a week...and a wipe over every day...this works fine for us and she seems happy enough as well.

I bathe my daughter every night unless she is falling asleep early. She seems to relax more before bedtime that way.

Ian is my fifth child and giving him a bath every night while he can't sit up on his own is just not practical. Right now, he's on a twice a week schedule for bathing and he's doing just fine with it. I expect to move him up to three nights around six months and then every night when he's outside playing in the dirt with his brothers. The exception to the "rules" is when there is a really dirty diaper, a day of consistent vomit, or being used as a coloring apparatus by my three year old.

I bath my little girl every second day. Lately I've started to bring her in the bath with me. She loves it because I can just hold her so she's floating and can kick her legs. I usually wrap her up in a towel and put her on the bathroom floor while I quickly wash myself so I don't have to worry about a shower the next morning.

We are pretty much on a once a week schedule, too. Calvin really doesn't like being in the bath, so I figure, why push it?

I bathe my son twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night. He loves it!!! It refreshes him in the morning and helps with his first nap of the day. It also relaxes him at night in preparation for bedtime.

We bathe our Geoffrey every other day to every 2 days. Since the weather has recently warmed up here, it might be a more rigid schedule of every other day. But daily we wipe his face, hands, and feet with a clean, damp washcloth, and clean his diaper area regularly -- so far, no rashes (knock on wood).

my daughter is 3 1/2 months old and she gets a bath every night (it's part of her bedtime routine). we only use soap on her every other day and only wash her hair with shampoo once a week. she really enjoys her bath and splashes around for about 20 mins... makes her nice and tired for bed.
