Birthday Ideas??

We decided that we are going to have my son's at funflatables which is an indoor place full of bouncy houses and slides. I took my son there first to see if he liked it and he loved it so we are going to do that. Last year it was at our house and it was so much work I will be glad to just go somewhere and have the party and go home.

My sons birthday isn't till the 22nd of January, and I've already been planning for two months. Like last year, I'm just going to have his party at home, but have a different theme. Last year was Winnie the Pooh, and this year will be Disney's Cars, because my son is In Love with cars! That way, decorating is easy, and the cake is already picked out. Last year, we had games more for the adults, that revolved around Logan; Like posting pictures of his firsts (i.e. first time sitting up, first time rolling over ect.) And people had to guess the dates. We had a cheerio jar, and people had to guess the amount in the jar. ect. ect. This year, I'm finding it tougher to pick out games though, because now he can be more involved, so I would like to have the games include him more this year. Down where I live, there isn't many toddler friendly places, so I haven't even had the thought of taking him anywhere special until he turns a bit older. Plus, he is not in Daycare, so the only other babies will be my friend's children, and most of them are still under a year, so can't do much anyways.

Oh my! My son, Dakota will be 2 on Jan 1 as well! How neat! He was the first baby born in B'ham, AL (12:05 am). I'm sure we could share some great stories! He is into Bob the Builder, Thomas the Train, among others. I think we'll have a tractor theme as that is what his father is into as well. Good luck with your planning and I hope we can chat!

zac is 2 on the 15th jan,
we ahd a huge 1st bday party with 90 people invited, so for zac's second birthday was are going to have a bbq with just our ad family with a couple of zac's friends. as its summer in australia... just with finger food for the kids.

Many fast food places (Burger King, McDonald's, Chik Fil-A) have indoor play areas and will help set up birthday parties....my son will be 2 Jan 12th....another idea is if you have a YMCA near you with a pool or gymnastics area, they also do birthday parties.....we loved the gymnastics party we went to when my son was 14 mos old....they played in a large open free play area and then had cake.....and of course at this age, something at your house is cheap and will be plenty of excitement for your little one.

Awww Stephanie, we both had our bubs on the exact same date!! I found it harder this year trying to plan something for Sophie's 2nd Birthday than her first lol We are having it at the local soft play centre, she loves it there and the food is fantastic so that is what we have chosen :o) Good luck hunny xx

I'm also a planner :) Planning Keri Elle's birthday (2 on Jan. 14th) at a place called Monkey Island! Great indoor jungle park place. However, you can't bring outside food so we're stuck with pizza and juice. We're in the midwest so indoor parties are a necessity for January babies. 2 year olds are easy to please, you'll have no trouble. My 3 year old daughter turned 3 on Oct. 20th so her party is tomorrow and she's sooo excited about it!

I plan on having my daughter's 2nd party at Legoland. Check out their website. http://www.legolanddiscoverycenter.com/c... They have a menu to choose whatever you'd like and the children can use their imaginations to build. My daughter will be 2 on January 20th and we visit Chuck E Cheese a little too frequently to have that as her special day. I hope it helps.

I'm in the same boat. Rufaro James is turning 2 on January 10 and I would love to throw a party for him. For us here it will be raining in January so something outdoor will not do. Anyway its a couple of moths away so I'm sure we'll figure out something by then.

We took my son Phoenix to an Aquarium for his 1st Birthday (30/01/09), which he absolutely loved. Our other children enjoyed it too (in fact my 6yr old wanted to go back there for HER Birthday this year!)
This year I'd like him to have a party and have chosen 'The Gruffalo' as a theme. It is such a lovely story book that is a favourite in our house and I can easily tie games, decorations, food etc in with that theme. I've even seen a little Gruffalo costume he could wear :0) We are lucky that we have a lovely community hall just across the road which we can hire so the cold weather won't be a problem.

Hi my daughter is also 2 on the 1st January 2011 I am just inviting a few children that she plays with to our house for few hours probably 2-4 and give them few snacks like sandwiches sausages crisps fruit. let them have a play.

I have been to plenty of bounce house Birthdays. Thye are always a blast. My mom and step dad actually purchased on for my son a couple of years ab=go so we usually set that up in the garage or the yard (weather permiting) for the kids. This year when my baby girl turns 2 we are doing a alice in wonderland party. I have been collecting tea cups and saucers. THe kids can either take those as gifts or leave them and me and Presley can have tea parties at home. My friend is a pinata maker and she is doing a cheshire cats head. I am going to the craft store to get thoce foam viser hats for kids to decorate (to tie in with the mad hatter) and I am goin to make lil kid friendly sandwhiches (to tie in with the food that make her shrink). I am also on the hunt for teapot to put different juices in. ANd I wanted to try to make a pin the stopwatch on the rabbit. It is so hard to plan a winter birthday in the pacific northwest. We don't have much money so we can afford to really go anywhere. I don't really want to have to ask parent to pay admission for their kids if we were to go somewhere. I am sure you can maybe find a local museum especially a childrens one, and see if they offer a group discount. I know that even some places offer free days every now and then.

rylan turns 2 on 4th january, i was thinking (if it snowing then having a party in the back garden (all to bring snowsuits and wellies), my other idea was to hire soft play area and have a superhero party he loves that, but what he really loves just now is garfield so i havent thought it through completely but maybe have a cartoon character party???
maybe just take him out to deep sea world or something

For a two year old I don't think you really have to do much. My Keiran will be turning two on the 17th of January and I am having a jungle themed party and having some of his daycare buddies and his cousins and having the house all decked out with decorations and playing some fitting games for that age group. It really doesn't take much to please a two year old just as long as the attention is on them. :)

Thanks, I will look into that! More than likely I will be at a local park or the zoo, I spoke to my mother about the only 'Bouncy' place we had and was told that they had closed the toddler enclosure part due to injuries. I am hoping the Texas winter this year will be gentle! :) I am in West Virginia now, and had him last year for his Bday, just me and my Fiance, so we just went to Ci-Ci's and then a trip to Toy's R Us, which he loved. I mean at One, you don't need anything huge, but at Two...I think He deserves a lil something! Thanks for the suggestion, I will look for another place or I also heard of a pottery place? Anyone w toddlers had luck w that? Or a craft place?

My son turns 2 January 13, we live in Ohio and have a hard time finding what to do. Last year we had his party at an indoor inflatable bounce place. It was a great time. Everyone still talks about how much they enjoyed it from my son to all the adults. The adults even were able to get in the bounce houses and play. If you have one near you I would recommend it highly, might do it again this year.

I am in the same boat! I will be moving to Texas near my sons 2nd birthday and have a 14 year old son. Any one have any ideas, that are inexpensive too boot, for both my boys? We have a Six Flags and Sea World but none of the other kiddos would be able to attend, so that maybe just us and I would like to have other kiddos both young and old to join in our celebration for Jaylon since we were in West Virginia since he has been born and no one has been able to see him since he has been born.
My older son has his Birthday in July so we always have done pool partys and with Jaylon's in January, I need new ideas! :)

I'm in the same boat. My daughter turns 2 January 12th and since it's winter we can't be outside and Chuck E Cheese doesn't seem appealing. My daughter loves to jump and play so we were thinking an indoor jungle gym with like ball pits and trampolines and stuff, if you have one where you live that's an idea...hope it's helpful
