Today I started diapering my 5-month old with pre-folds and the covers. I am so excited to be done with those pampers, blow-outs, and all that money out the window. I would love any tips from other mommies who use the cloth diapers!

I use bumgenius 3.0's (pocket diapers). i originally had bought the prefolds and prowraps, but didn't have any luck with them. they were soooooo bulky and he always seemed to leak out the legs.

i love the bumgenius though!

Yes, I love cloth diapers too! I use BumGenius one-size, Happy Heiny's One-Size and prefolds with Thirsties diaper covers. I use the BumGenius with a diaper doubler at night and USUALLY have no leaks. Every once in a while she leaks out. I don't know why but am thinking that maybe I need to do something else for nights now that she is getting bigger (6 months old). I was hoping that she would eat less often at night and that would help but not yet!

I use babybeehinds bamboo fitted nappies for night. 12+ hours in those and no signs of leaks and they don't even feel that wet!

I've been using a variety of cloth nappies: Bambino Mio prefolds and wraps for daytime, Bumgenius one-size pockets and a Blueberry one-size pocket for nights, and recently bought some fitted diapers(Minky Huggle and Bambinex Teddy my favourite) to use with covers for longer periods during the day. Sometimes I use disposables for going out, and 2 days ago, he did an explosive poop and it leaked rite up the side of his belly and on my top too...so totally agree that disposables r quite useless when it comes to breastfed poo!

I love cloth too! I use Kissaluvs contours (they are like prefolds, you use a cover with them, but you don't have to fold them like an origami artist, lol. Also, they are like five layers, really absorbant!!!) At night, I use the BumGenius AIOs.

There is a cloth diapering group on here, look it up and join!

I've been using cloth since 2 weeks old. Have a wide range of types but love my bumgenius (they are also super easy for dads). Just been on holiday for a week and had Lucas in disposables. I hate them! Everyday he did a poop and it ended up out the sides or up his back. Changing dirty vests is so much harder than changing a dirty diaper. I use flushable liners and dry pail with a mesh liner bag that can be transfered straight to the machine. SO easy!

We started using prefolds and covers when baby was 10days old - LOVE them! I l use the bummis super whisper wrap with the diaper folded in thirds lengthwise and tucked in to the front flap. I have never had a blowout in the cloth with covers. The money you save is totally worth the few extra minutes when you have to clean off a poopy cover or wash the diapers.

Good luck - check out the cloth diapered munchkins community for more info...
