cot / toddler bed / single bed???

try to get a toddler bed that has sides in it. My four year old has a car bed and yes the 14m old gets in and out of it on her own but I never worry about her when she is there because its on the ground and she is actually taller than the bed. The point being the matress sets inside it a little so if there is any rolling there are sides to protect all the way around. Good luck

thanks guys. yeah well my partner and i have decided to start trying for another one at the end of the year (about the time Amanda is two) so it will work out that if we get her a toddler bed soon by the time she grows out of it we should have another little one ready to move on up to the toddler bed---because from the beds ive seen are nice and low to the ground and can hold a fair bit of weight--like an average 4 year old maybe?? as long as she doesnt get to long for it we should be set :p (she is a tall yet thin girl..)

once we find one both my partner and i like we are going to get her one, we also thought she would get more use out of her cot mattress/sheets this way too ... and the fact that if she climbs out of a toddler bed that is (i think about) 20 cms off the floor as apposed to a little over a meter (in a cot).....id rather her fall the 20cms!!!

My daughter is also 13 months and has begun to climb out of her crib. Luckily the crib converts to a toddler bed, so that's what she will be sleeping in this weekend. I think a single bed might be too big still and the toddler bed is still small enough for them and close to the floor so if they do fall out, they won't have far to fall! And they can stay in the toddler bed for a couple of more years before you have to buy them a big kid bed. Good luck!!

Hey! When my little girl turned one we switched her to a toddler bed. The good thing about toddler beds is that they are low to the ground in case of falls while your little one is getting used to the new bed. I used to put a pillow or some blankets on the floor by her bed in case she may fall out of bed in the middle of the night. Your best bet is to put one side against the wall so that limits only one side to be able to fall out on. Or you could always introduce her to the bed during the day if she has naps so you can watch her and make sure she don't fall out. My little boy has just turned one as well but he is not ready for a toddler bed yet. So if I were you I would pick one that is lowest to the ground for the first while. My little girl slept in her toddler bed until she was 3, then we bought her a single bed. Good luck, hope this may have helped even a little!
