I'm just wondering if anyone has any more tips (besides just the Ferber Method or Sears) to getting my almost 8 week old to go to sleep and stay asleep in her crib.

Thanks, I'll have to try that. She's asleep right now. She fell asleep in her rocker thing. She fussed for about two minutes and then passed out. Rough day, I guess. I'm hoping I can transfer her to her bassinet without a hitch. With my first daughter (now 6) she slept with me for the first two months (she was 6 weeks early and in NICU for 10 days) then I got her in her own crib and she slept between 10-14 hours a night....lucky me. I wouldn't let her sleep straight through until she was about three months old because of being a preemie. But she did great. I used the Ferber method with her and the transition was easy. This one is a little more clingy. I think that was because my first was in an incubator for almost the first two weeks of her life so she wasn't right with me ALL the time. But I'll try what you suggested though. That is if she wakes tonight, otherwise tomorrow night. I'm willing to try just about anything.

Try putting her into the basinette or cot before she falls asleep when she is just drowsy. Stay near by and jiggle the basinette or pat her bum saying shhhh if she starts to cry. If you put her to bed when she is already asleep after falling asleep on you then when she is in between sleep cycles (roughly 40 min) she will wake slightly and go "OMG where am I where is Mum, I fell asleep on her and now she has gone".

The jiggling thing is great, enough to make her head wobble a bit works wonders.

She has been sleeping with me on my chest...yeah I know everyone is against it, but it works...anyways, I've tried putting her in her bassinet but that is only temporary until she wakes up mad at the world. The crib is even worse. She'll wake up instantly screaming bloody murder. I did try last night to put her in her bassinet again. This time I swaddled her really tight, fed her while awake, let her fall asleep in my arms, then after she dozed off I put my pregnancy pillow in the bassinet rolled up so that she sits in it all snug where she can't roll and suffocate and she actually slept all night until about 6 this morning she started being kinda restless and I just grabbed her and put her back on my chest for the next couple hours. The only problem with the swaddling is she likes to pull her arms out and that's the real problem. Too bad they don't make those with handcuffs...joking. We did try sleeping in our bed but that just doesn't work...hubby snores and I just can't sleep with that. But the way I did it last night worked...last night. Who knows if it'll work tonight.

What do you do at the moment? Are you co-sleeping? Or are you moving from basinette to crib? Does your baby ever sleep in her crib (like day naps)?
