Does/did your baby have health issues?

My baby was born 8 days early and had a low birth weight (5lb, 13oz), a clubbed foot, bradycardia, an 'abnormal' thyroid, a low platelet count and a cyst on the brain. Just today, we were given the all-clear by the Paediatrician (with exception to the clubbed foot which we are still working on)... a weight has been lifted. We had no warning of any of these problems prior to the birth so it was cerainly a shock to the system - especially when our first child was born so healthy (and weighed 8lb, 8oz). To look at him now you wouldn't think anything had been wrong with him - he's just a beautiful happy little baby - it just feels like it's taken years to get to this point though and it's only been 5 months.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

My daughter was born on January 9th. She had a form of spina bifida called a "tethered cord." The end of her spinal cord tethered to some fatty tissue very early in development (around 4-6 weeks). She had spinal surgery at 3 months of age. She is doing so great. No lasting issues so far, but she will be monitored indefinitely.

Hi im amber. I have 4 kids ages 4,4,2, and 5months. Our 5 month old has had it rough since i was 14 wks preg. I had developed a subcronic bleed (a blood clot) in my uterus. So when i started bleeding i thought we had lost him. We had a crapy doc that didnt give any chance to my baby. So in early Aug when i tried to see a specialist he would not send me. I had an infection n had to switch docs but could nt get to one till end of sept. So from 4m till birth i had a very bad infection. Because of the bleed he had low amniotic fluid. Then at 33 weeks i started bleeding again and they never found out why. He was born at 37 weeks. He was born with torticollis, a muscle problem on the right side of his neck. Then at 5weeks he had RSV and had to be hospitalized fr 6 days. Then at 15 weeks they hospitalize him again for high white blood cells(32000 norm for sickness is 15000) He is still having problems with that they have to watch him very carefully because with both episodes of high white blood cells he had a very mild semptom like a small fever and an onset of an ear infection. He has had to do a CT and MRI both witch came back normal and now we are waiting to see if he has to wear a helmet. He has been in and out of the docs a lot and because of his development delays he has to go to physical theropy every week and with thier help he has come a long way. Luckly he is a boy withred hair our lil fighter.
