you should try going as long as you can wiht out getting it just to see how it feels. i did not start having hard contractions until i was dialated to a 5-6 it really goes faster. but its your choice no pressure! :)

I have the same Dr. this time and he said I am a good candidate for a vbac but will monitor really closely and not take any chances if things start to look difficult. he is great!

did your dr. say that you could have it natural? because most will not let you incase of riping the scar tissue burring a natural child burth!~ i do not have anything agenst pain meds or needles, i just do not like the idea of beign paralized from the wast down and the chance of it taking permanent affect.

I tryed natural birth but it didn't really work out that way in the end, ended up with a emergency c section. Hoping to go all natural this time around though!

I had both my kids natural as well. I agree, let nature take it's course as long as possible. With my first by the time I decided maybe I needed some pain med, they checked me and said "Hey you can start pushing". So with just 20 minutes of pushing he was born. With the second I was at a hospital with a whirlpool bath. I got in that and within a few minutes felt the urge to push. They barely got me out, dried off and back in bed before I started pushing and John was here... So just keep in mind it's a natural process and women have been doing it for a couple thousand years :) That being said, I have nothing against pain meds if you need them, it's just a needle in the spine scares the heck out of me, so I'd take the temporary pain of childbirth over the needle...

i had my kids natural with my daughter i had stadol to take the edge off the pain but no think it worked for me. so with my son i had him natural with out any pain meds at all i had my daughter in 9 hrs becuase my water was broke, and my son in 7hrs, with my eater being broke at 7:30-8:00 am. not exactly sure but if i would have waited to go in to labor on my own i'm pretty sure it would not have taken as long. so my advice is to hold off as long as you can before you get an epidoural, and when they ask you do you want one before it's too late chances are the baby will be there before the epidoral does, or even goes in to affect so really it is worth it in the end not to get one. some say i'm crazy but my nurses told me i made it look easy!!!

Hi, I'm Jennifer and I'm due January 9th as well with my first baby! I'm excited, but nervous at the same time, since it is my first.
Are you having a girl or a boy?

Must be a good time for third babies... I have a 6 year old girl and a 3 year old boy, expecting another girl in January. Pregnancy has been funny for me these last two times, I have been so busy that I have hardly noticed the time passing. By the time the holidays are over, so will this pregnancy be, for the most part! Good luck to ya'll!

Hi, that sounds about like me... I have a son that will be 5 in January, and one that is 2 1/2. I'm due with my 3rd in early January. I'm thinking this one is a girl, but I don't know for sure. It's just been a totally different pregnancy than the other 2.
