ear infection??

about 3 weeks ago my daughter was complaing her ear hurt so i took her to the urgent care center and they said she had a ear infection. i gave her the medicine they prescribed to her and it went away. this evening after i picked her up from the babysitter she would randomly point to that ear and saying owie boo boo like before. she is not doing it as often as she did last time so i am not sure if she is just saying this for attention or if it actually hurts. last time she cried when she pointed to the ear and this time if seems like a fake cry and she probably only did it about 3 times this evening. has anyone expierenced their little one pretending to have it hurt for attention?? i would hate to have her suffer if it is hurting her but wouldnt like paying to take her to the doc for nothing... also she does like to fall on purpose and says she has a booboo so i will kiss it.

the fall thing is part of their development. but if you are giving her the antibiotic for 10 days, then just give her 1/2 teaspoon of Tylenol or Motrin if she's in pain from her ear. make an appt to have her ears checked a week or two after the antibiotic is finished.

thanks. ill tell my husband to call her doctor tomorrow. she hasnt had a ear infection before 3 weeks ago so im not experienced with what to do.

if you didn't have a recheck after her last infection, iw ould go back in for sure...if she continues to complain i would go back in...ear infections can hurt less after first one but be in part due to damage to the ear...it is not likely that she is pretending about her ears from my experience...
