My daughter is 13 months old now and has had frequent ,mucusy, soft poo for 20 days now. I am still breastfeeding, I give her healthy non-allergen foods, and she's already had lab testing for endo-parasites or bacterial/viral infections. She's otherwise very happy and healthy and has no other symptoms. This is seriously a mystery to me and I'm so tired of changing these nasty smelly diapers!! any ideas moms?

Has your child had any antibotics? If so that is more then likely the cause and she needs to have her gut rebalanced. Antibotics in anyone just one time causes our flora (good bacteria) to get out of balance. I have my kids on Shaklee optiflora which is proven to deliver right where we need it. I thought it maybe what you were eating, but since you are saying you also feeding her it could be a number of things. I do hope that your daughter gets help for this as it is very annoying having Diarrhea at my age and for 2 days.

My daughter got it really bad from antibiotics my doc told me to put her on florastor one packet twice a day for ten days its over the counter but you have to ask a pharamcist for it

Bananas and rice cereal can help stools be more solid. Just don't over do it because then you'll have constipation instead of diarrhea. My Dr. told me to use probiotics such as acidophilus to replace the good bacteria in the intestines that help with the GI tract. Ask your Dr. if that would be appropriate and what dosage you should give. Good luck!

my son has had diarrhea for 4months now but the doctor said as long as he's eating, drinking and is happy its just a phase.

Give her a bit of water with salt, otherwise just pray hard that that wont turn to a bad thing. But most of the time a baby poo changes just by happy that she is taking out something and that something might be a colic coz Drs say its not certain that it will be out when the baby is still an infant. I hope she be alright just hang in there.

My son had diarrhea for 8 weeks straight (up to 8 a day). The doctor had it tested and discovered he had clostridum. He most likely got it from antibotics but you can also get it from the water. If it continues I suggest seeing a doctor.

do the BRAT diet. Bananas Rice Applesauce Toast. also cheese is really good at making harder poops. may daughter just got over a bought of diarrhea for close to 14 days, so i know what u mean.

My son had a really bad reaction to some antibiotics and had awful diarrhea. The nurse told me to give him a probiotic. I think the one I use is called Floragen for kids (not sure on the spelling). The diarrhea stopped that day and he has been very regular with normal poop. The nurse told me to keep giving it to him after he's done with the antibiotics because it helps their digestive system and immune system. I did and love how well it work. I only give him half a capsule (you just pull it apart and put it in their food). All you have to do is go to a pharmacist and ask them for a probitotic for your daughter. Walgreens has it on hand that's where I got mine. Hope that helps!

have you changed what you're eating? are you on any medications that could be causing this in your milk? any vitamins or anything like that? waht does your doctor say?

Could be post-nasal drip from a cold or indoor allergy? Swallowed mucus could cause that.

I do know that breastfeeding poo's are different to other poo's but can't understand the mucusy bit. Try a very bland diet for a couple of days to see if that changes them but if she's happy and healthy and the doc's aren't worried about it then it's just another one of those things. My 3 year old had toddler diarrhoea for a whole year so I can under stand your worry. Hope it stops soon.
