My 6 month old hasn't been to her checkup yet, but my oldest was only 18lbs at a year old. She is still very small for her age but healthy and happy. I think my 6 month old will outweigh her 3 yr old sister soon...lol... My 3 yr old is 27lbs now.

My son was 19lbs and 27 inches at his 6 month checkup. We have some dear friend's with a daughter who was 18lbs 9oz and 27 inches at her 1 year checkup. Each baby grows differently. My doc has said repeatedly that the weight and height charts are just generalizations. In the end, the most important thing is that your baby is growing and healthy. Now, if your baby hasn't gained any weight in between checkups, that could be a problem.

At my son's 6 month appointment he weighed 14lbs 6.5oz and 26 1/2 inches. He was small to begin with (4lbs 12oz), and has never lost weight. Our doctor said he's just a small guy. As long as he's still gaining he will be okay. I only weighed 16lbs at a year old and I turned out just fine! :)

Hi, my daughter had her 6 month check up this week and she only weighs 14.3lb, the nurse said she is fine, as long as she has been putting weight on and hasn't lost any. I am only small myself so she said he probably will just take after me. As long as you think your bub is healthy and is eating fine then i don't see a problem.

My son was 22lbs at his 5 months check up, he's now 24lbs perhaps (6 months) because he has started to eat solids. Anyhow, he was born 9 lbs. He uses 1 year old size already.. lol.

My baby girl as six months last week, She'll be getting weighed next week, but at 4 months she was 8.1kg, which I think is about 16lbs. I'm pretty sure she is well over 10kgs now (I think about 20lbs). Abbey was born 5.1kgs/11lbs 4oz though!!

My son is 6.5 months and we just went to the Dr today and he's 20 lbs and 28 inches tall- apparently he is in the higher end of normal. (My husband and I are both tall, so it was to be expected) If she's eating well and seems content then I would say don't stress it.

No No My little girl weighs 14.5 pounds at 6 months and her ped. says she is fine. From what I have read on the internet in several places the average weight at 6 months is 14 lbs. I wouldn't worry.

My son just turned 6 months old and is 20lbs. I heard that babies should close to double there weight by 3 months old. My little guy was 9lbs at birth and at 3 months he was 17lbs. So from 3 to 6 months he only gained 3lbs.
You can always go to another doctorfor a second opinion.

My baby girl weighed 17.5 pounds at her 4-month visit. We go a week from Monday for her 6-month visit and I have no doubts she is 20+ pounds! At 4 months she was 27.5" long. BTW she is breastfed and I understand BF babies tend to weigh a bit more for the first 6 months.
