My daughter has been fairly easy going and switched to Milk just fine. She drinks about 24 oz. on average, but somedays less. It is the overall picture that counts.

At one they can have regular milk and I have heard soymilk is not so good for babies. My daughter does not drink too much milk because she will fill up on it more than food(I have read this in a few baby books and my pediatrician) I would say we do 8oz a day of milk and the rest is half water and half grape juice throughout the day. (100% juice)

Hi there.... my son just turned 1 this past Friday (1/15) and we had his 1-year check-up this morning. The doctor said he should have 16-20 oz of whole milk instead of formula, but can go up to 24 oz. He also recommended that he drink 8-16 oz of water, and if possible, no juice. If you'll be giving him juice, then don't give him more than 6 oz a day. I hope this helps!

Our son turned 1 on the 3rd and we stopped giving him formula since he is eating so well with his solids. He gets diluted juice once or twice a day to help with his bm's, he drinks about 8 oz of water a day and still gets a warm bottle of milk at nap and bed times. I'm just not sure how much milk he should be getting a day as he also eats yogurt usually for breakfast and sometimes cheese as a snack. He's not keen on the sippy cup yet, but we are trying to wean him off the bottle throughout the day.

You can also try a cup with a straw which is supposed to be better for strengthening the jaw muscles anyway!

My daughter is drinking about 1 cup per day. She drinks from one of those Rubbermaid drinking boxes with a straw. No sippy cups here. she was also breastfed so no bottles. The straw is great as when you forget to take one with you, she can drink from a straw anywhere. Why soymilk versus cows milk?

Typically, babies should be having about 16-24 oz of whole milk or formula a day. But some of that can be mixed with cereal or in the form of yogurt. Is your little guy eating whole milk yogurt or eating cereal mixed with milk?
My daughter drinks about 14-16 oz of milk a day, has 4 oz of yogurt and has about 3 oz of milk mixed with cereal each day. She drinks water throughout the day. I don't give her juice because it just seems like a lot of extra sugar with not a lot of nutrients. She drinks water from a straw sippy, but her milk is still in the bottle. I'm not worried about getting her off of the bottle yet. It will happen when she no longer needs to take bottle before bed.

Toddlers can be switched to homo milk on their 1st birthday. They need the extra fats in homo milk for brain and eye development. The pediatric society recommends 3 cups a day. If he won't drink as much from the bottle try warming it first or give it to him in cereals and you can make your own instant vanilla pudding, it's good in soups too.

I give my son about 3 -6oz bottles of mile per day, 2-4oz cups of diluted juice, 2-4oz cups of water per day. He's growing just fine....but it is hard to gage what he's drinking all the time because sometimes the milk constipates him so I don't push the issue. I just supplement with Dannon yogurt smoothies for kids....

I agree with Sarah too!! 9 - 10 oz of formula is not enough for babe. You might just have to let him have the bottle again. If that is the only way he drinks it. I have seen lots of kids over one on bottles still. I originally planned to switch from bottle to sippy cup once my daughter turned one but that would not be fair to her. I think doing some feeding with sippy cup and some with the bottle. My daughter took forever it seemed to take the sippy cup i had to try like 5 different kinds before i found one she liked.

Everyone has a different opinion on this but I don't think u need to be in a rush to get rid of all the bottles yet! Most experts say around 15 months- 2 years.. Can you maybe try doing one feed )the hungriest one) by sippy cup and the others by bottle.....that way your baby is learning to use the sippy cup but still has the comfort of a bottle and getting enough of the nutrients.... just a suggestion...

I read that one year olds should be drinking between 16-24 ounces of milk/formula.

My daughter is turning 1 on the 20th of this month and we are already off formula and she only drinks 3 sippy cups of regular milk, plus she has a sippy cup of water with her when she goes to bed. I also give her juice at snack time around 3. She drinks alot!
