My son is almost 13 months old and isnt walking or crawling..he just rolls around everywhere. Hopefully he will start soon =( I'm starting to get discouraged. He doesnt even show a desire to WANT to...

My 1 year old is still not walking either. She will walk along furniture and such, but will not let go and try. We have tried the walking toys and it seems to have helped a little bit.

My daughter turned 1 on Jan 16 and she isn't walking too, though she stands for some seconds and flops back down. It's all a matter of time cos once they start, there's no stopping.

Mine too! He scoots like a champ but still no crawling or walking. Everyone is different and time is the great equalizer. I understand how it hard not worry though. Mine had a very hard time getting used to belly time and still hates it so I don't expect the crawl at all.

My daughter is not walking or crawling or scooting. She is very behind in milestones. She is also not talking or babbling. She turned 1 on Jan 15th. She is in early intervention and also speech and physical therapy.

Alyssa isn't walking yet either, but she is crawling everywhere!! I wouldn't worry about it though, every kid is different! A frien of mines little girl has been walking since she was 9 1/2 months lol. But Alyssa doesn't really seem too interested in walking yet. She figures why walk when she can crawl there faster? lol

Logan isn't walking yet! We're not disappointed or anything, it'll happen when it happens. He has had a couple moments of free standing unassisted, but they don't last long. He's pretty cautious.

my little girl is also just about to turn one and she's not crawling or walking yet either.she's strong and can walk if you hold her hands, but has no hope of balancing standing on her own yet...she's happy and healthy and so i've stopped worrying so much about it now.and just think how less stressful it is to put them down without having to constantly worry what they've wandered of and gotten in to!they're all so different so you just have to try not to compare. my girl was 6 1/2 wks prem so i was always comparing with my girlfriends bubz born at same time...she did some things b4 them, they did some things b4 her.

my son will 1 on the 23rd of this month and just started walking a couple of weeks ago. he has been standing on his own since before chrismas and pulling himself up since about september. but then if you ask my freind her little girl started walking at 8 months and my sisters little boy is not walking yet and hes almost 15 months. they all have there own idea of when they want to do things. I would just incourege her to walk with you to give her a sence of securety when walking. show her how to pull her self up on things and show her how to crawl. but other then that I really wouldn't worry about it just yet, but if you need more medical advice ask your doctoer! hope this helps!!!

My son turned 1 on jan 6 and he still is only walking as long as he is holding on the the couch, or anything he can get his hands on. We got him a "push" car that he can ride or push while walking. He is just to wobbly and scared to do it on his own. He will walk if holding me or daddys hand. Im letting Myles go @ his own pace. Once he walks then we're all in trouble. :) Don't worry!

My son turned 1 on Jan 9th and hasn't started walking yet. No need to worry about it. If he isn't walking by 18 months just mention it to the Dr, but even then there may not be any reason to worry.

my little girl was one on 8th Jan and started crawling forwards about 2 months ago - she takes the odd step with my help but seems quite happy just crawling and holding on to the furniture - she has started to let go with one hand so might not be too long before she gets the confidence to walk

My son Xander turned 1 yesterday and he is cruising around stuff but not walking yet! I think all children bloom earlier or later....some kids cut teeth earlier or walk earlier . I know Xander will walk when he wants to; also he is top heavy which might be a factor in his case. Your son could just one day out of the blue take off walking. My brother did not crawl a lot and my mom said one day he got up and took off walking...so it depends on the child...Praying our sons take off soon! Take care!

Mine too!!! He'll be one on Jan 23rd and he hardly ever crawls~ he has maybe three times. He'll pull up on stuff to cruise a bit (no walking) but his most preferred way of gettting around is the butt scoot! Looks like our boys are the same at this stage.

a great thing that helped Jameson walk was letting him push a chair around.. those walker toys are so light and go VERY fast when pushed, so if you use them trying weighing it down with a bag of rice or anything.

he isn't crawling? typically most children have met that milestone by now but hun every kids different of course.... do you have early intervention? if not, you should definitely look into having them come and evaluate him. also, was your son premature? children born early can have a delayed time in reaching certain goals.

Everything I have read and all of the developmental information out there says that it's normal for babies to start walking anywhere between 8-18 months. That's a big window so I would not worry if I were you.

My first who is now 5 was running by his first birthday. Abel which will be 1 on the 20th will walk all day as long as he can hold onto something. When he takes a few steps and realizes he's not holding on he shakes!! LOL He will walk all around my house as long as he can keep one hand on the wall. All kids are different. When you go for his one yr checkup ask your ped about it if it makes you feel better! =)

My daughter just turned 1 on the 12th and she's just cruising, she was born with bilateral clubfeet though, so we sort of expected her to be a little delayed on walking. At her 12 month well check the doctor wasn't worried, she said if she's not walking at 18 months then we need to start looking into it. Riley crawls everywhere so it's not like she isn't mobile. She was also a month early so I figure when she's ready to walk, she will! They all move at their own pace!

my son will be turning one next friday and he is not walking.he does not crawl but he scoots on his belly and pushes with his arms.he can certainly get around the house really quick.he can also pull his self up and stand by a couch or the coffee table and stay there no problem.he is starting to take a few steps around the coffee table.in time he will walk when he is ready.

my daughter turns one on 22 jan. she doesnt walk either. she crawls though.. and i think crawling is equivalent of booty scooting :) she does however stand up holding on to something and takes steps by holding to the furniture. anyway i dont think you should worry especially if your son has got teeth. coz calcium goes to one or the other more! so if hes got teeth he takes slower steps and vice versa like in my daughters case..(only one tooth :))

no both my babies were walkin at 9 months to 10 months of age. Try giving them a ball a lil smaller than the size of their head. This helps them consintrate on the ball and not walking. They fall less. It helped me out.

I read an article from my hospital that said once your child was able to stand with support to get one of those push along walkers and those were designed to assist little ones learning to walk. I gave one to my son and he was walking in a month. I also constantly had him in a walker while I was preparing dinner or doing the laundry. I think it really helped his leg muscles develop. Good luck and I wouldn't worry until your doctor tells you to be worried!

I have noticed that if a child is not as developed in one area that he will be more advanced in another area. Then he'll play catch up later. I'll bet he is exceptionally smart/observant.

My son will be one on the 22nd and he can stand alone, pull himself up and walk while holding on to something or someone's hands but not completely on his own yet. i heard it's ok up until like 18 months then there might be a problem. Some of my friends that have babies close in age to my son were happy their kid learned to walk but sure miss the crawling days! I can only imagine the terror my little one is gonna cause when he can finally walk!

My daughter turned one on the 13th...she's pulling herself up and such but i am thinking with having her older sister to get things for her, she doesnt "need" to walk...if that make sense. I am also thinking her tiny feet are holding her back a little too. well good luck anyway! :)

My son, who turns 1 on the 23rd isn't walking yet either, but he does the whole military crawl thing lol. He reminds me of a spider when he crawls. Kids develop at different rates. My daughter, who will be 3 in May, didn't really crawl and started walking around 14 months. My son is more active than she was at this age.
So no worries :)! He will start walking when he is ready. So will mine.

I agree with everyone else. Don't worry they're all different. My daughter has only been commando crawling (dragging herself with her arms) for a month. My son who is now 2 1/2 years was a bum scooter too, he was very slow with everything (was much older than your son before he started scooting around) and only started walking at 23 months old. We took him to doctors and physios but I think it made the situation worse. We found he was a VERY cautious baby and was just too scared to walk and wanted to think about it a little further before attempting it :-)

my son just turned one on the 7th of January and he has yet to walk... I read a baby book that some kids dont walk until they are 17 months or so... as for the crawling ... some babies never crawl and just go straight to walking.... Boys learn slower than little girls also... dont worry ...

There is no need to worry at all. they all start walking at different times. My friends daughter scooted on her bum and never crawled and then started walking. Ayedin just started walking on the 9th a week after his 1st birthday. It does happen its just up to the baby on when.

My little guy turns 1 on January 20 and he just recently (within the last 1.5 weeks) figured out how to get around in a pseduo-crawl with one knee and the other foot. "Normal" is a very wide range. My first son was doing a proper-looking crawl @ 9 months and then walked at 13 months. Every baby is different!

Mine is 1 on the 30th as well and he's not walking either. You can't look at all these conversations all the time because every baby is different. I can be hard looking at the conversations because you feel like your kid is always behind. Mine didn't crawl until he was 8 months and even then it was army, trench crawling. It wasn't until he was 11 months that he actually got up on all fours and crawled for real. He's pulling up on everything, but not walking yet. Don't worry!
