Hi everyone,

Welcome to the January 2009 Babies community, where we chat about our January 2009 children and whatever else is on our minds!

To get things started, I thought it would be nice if we all introduced ourselves in this thread, which will be pinned to the community home page. Whether you're a Circle of Moms veteran or you're new to the site, let us know who you are, what you’re interested in, and what your lovely January 2009 child is up to right now, developmentally speaking!

Hi, everyone,
I am Carol Jin, a Chinese mom of 3 kids, 15, 5 and 3 years old.Thank you for adding me into the January 2009 Babies community!
To introduce myself first: I used to be a working mom in Financial sector, since 2005 I moved to Belgium because of my husband's job, and since then I've become a full-time mom with a 9-year-old boy, when we moved back in 2010 to our home in Shanghai, China, I brought back 3 kids, with the youngest born in Jan 2009 in Belgium. Now I am still a full-time-mom, and recently the only change is that I opened a Montessori learning care center at home called Bambino, where we not only prepare a good Montessori environment for kids to grow well-rounded, but also do parenting training, which has become my top interest over the past years. in February this year, I got Montessori 3-6 year old- teacher's diploma from North America Montessori Training Center (NAMC).
My lovely January 2009 child is named Daisy, she is adorable, and develops so well physically and mentally, and she is now in an international Montessori kindergarten with her 2nd older brother Billy, 5 years old. She calls herself "little princess" everyday with different names: Snow White, Aurora, Belle, Ariel...every morning we wait for her instructions about what name we shall call her at the start of a day...She's got "Police Award" for the last school year, because according to her homeroom teacher Argelle, she behaves well first to satisfy the teacher's instructions, and then she goes to everyone to tell them what they should have behaved...
Ok, just give you some brief introduction as above, and I look forward to learning more from all of you in the future !

Hello Everyone!!
I am so excited to come across this site. I love discussing different issues and listening to new ideas. I am a 27 year old single mom to an amazing little girl, Madison. My 3 year old is my best-friend, silly to say but true. I am a full time student (classes are online) and my daughter stays home with me. We are so blessed to be able to be together as much as we are. It has its trying times, for sure, but I would have it no other way. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone better.

Hi, my name is Karen. I live in North Carolina. I have identical twin 3 year old girls. I work full time and they are in a daycare center / preschool. My husband is a firefighter and works 24 hour shifts. We don't live near family so I'm on my own a lot. The girls certainly keep me on my toes. They are a bit wild and crazy. Developmentally we are still working on potty training. One is doing great and the other is almost there.

Hi I'm Mary, my daughter,Lily, is a big sister to Emma,5months old. As far as what she is doing nowadays, she's been using the bathroom at night since last july(although w this baby I hope to start ec'ing). She loves playing outside, climbing, singing, jumping. Occasionally I still wear her in a sling or Ergo when I'm not wearing the baby. She will breast feed about once or twice a day. She does chores n cooking w me and loves to play house( I don't use tv,radio, computers, plastic toys at home.she loves story telling as well. When I work (nurse in NYU medical) she stays w my mom n tells me I have to b home when it's dark out! She loves bagels, pizza,,fruit,Mac n cheese, rice, and pancit. This mornings comment when asked to put away her tea set"mom look at me,listen to me,if ur going to yell,I can't b ur friend,I don't let my friends yell at me." anyway I'm enjoying being a mom n just started back at volleyball two weeks ago.

We as Moms should be aware of what is going on in the world around us. I know this video is long but please wathc it. This man is taking children and forcing them into an army where they have to kill other children and hurt people. It is up to us to make a point to WASHINGTON that this is wrong and we need all the support we can get. Please share this video with everyone on your FACEBOOK!

Wow Charis, it seems like you've really come a long way.
Congrats on your miracle baby =)

My daughter was 7 weeks premature and still very small for her age. But a very healthy and happy 2 year old.
Although, I'm having some hard times with potty training too lol. She always tells me she's wants the toilet, but after she's already done it in her nappy lol..

You sound like you already are an amazing Mother, keep going strong hun =) xx

[deleted account]

Hi. My name is Charis (pronounced Karis). My son is Elijah. He was 6 weeks premature but is finally catching up in size to his peers. His current challenge is the ubiquitous issue of potty training! Boy are we having a hard time. I have many health issues, including a heart transplant and I am also a cancer survivor, so it can be very difficult for me to keep up with my very active little guy. He's my miracle and will be my only child. I strive to be the best mother I can be. :-)

Hi my name is Kelly and I live in Columbus, Oh. I'm the mother of a son 4 born 1/23/2007 and daughter 2 born 1/14/2009. I always said I wasted a boy & girl 2 years apart and I don't think I could of got any closer to having that. Kiya was due the 22nd but I had a c-section early due to eclampsia. Had it with my son and spent 10 days in the hospital 5 in ICU without vision and w/Bp of 222/121. I work part time in the evenings and baby sitter out of my home during the day. My daughter is that the stage of tea partys, dancing and everyone is her friend. We are also potty traing...ugh! boys are so much easier. We are still praying that she grows hair, she has some but not as much as my friends with kids her age have. My son just started pre-school and is loving it, he writes his name and can pick out most letters, is great at writting them as well. He loves dinosaurs and can name and pick out most of them. They both count really well. We play "school" every morning for anywhere from 30mins to an hour and they love it, plus they are picking up sooo much. I love crafts, of any kind, they kids and I make a craft at least once a week. I scrapbook in my free time and make wood crafts. Love the site!

Yes, I have my hands full. My 2009 boy - Connor is growing like a weed. It's just amazing how much he's grown and is able to do. What I find most interesting right now is his imagination. It is amazing and he surprises us every day with something new. We're having fun with potty training. He has #1 down but he's scared of the potty when it comes to doing #2. He told me he was scared of falling in. Any suggestions??? We have a potty chart with stickers and we decorated the bathroom with all his favorite superhero characters. Well, hope all of you and your January 2009 babies are doing great!!!

Hi All -- I'm Abbie,
Gavin Robert (1/9/10) is our 3rd little boy -- and oh what fun we have in this house...when I have the energy to keep up ;) Gavin was born on his due date (induced after 2 weeks of back labor and non-progression). Son #1 was 1 week late and his nog was stuck (almost needed a C), Son #2 was 3 days early and was a quick delivery. So I knew I didn't want to go late, and it worked out to send the older ones to Nana's house and just head in to the hospital on schedule.

Now, as a 2 year old he is active and a riot!

I look forward to raising him, teaching him and giving him my love
I live in Olympia Washington. I only worked part time with my 1st 2 kids but I am having to work fulltime with this last little guy. My work has it's own daycare and my sister is the supervisor of it so I feel ok with my son being in daycare, he is close to me and well loved at the center.
He is just about to turn 2, and I hate the fact that time is flying by! Christmas was a blast! He loved everything about it!
In over Thanksgiving we took him to Disneyland, it was so amazing!
We are currently potty training, transitioning him to his own bed in his own room, both are going great! He hated the toddler bed but loves his twin bed. Arg I need to get him off the bottle, he only take it at night and by then I am so tired from my long day that I always give in and give him one before bed time.
Joey is the love of my life and he has both daddy and I around his little finger. He has brought us so much joy, he is the greatest gift that I have gotten in 20 years!

Joey was born, Jan 27th 2009. And is a very happy settled child. We love our rural life in gorey and very much love how he simply slotted in to the family. Incredibly noisy to start with, bottle feeding became obvious, and moved onto hungrier baby feed eventually he quitened down, but in jan he is 2!! And is doing king kong impersonation at the moment! climbing and throwing his weight about, the odd tantrum and extremely cuddly. Overtly shy, loved washing up and polishing, and finding the delights of his nostrils at the supermarket (ew!). Wonderful member of my family and he makes my little circle a happy more cheery place to be :D

My name is Danielle and I'm a happy wife of soon-to-be 13 years in Feb. and a proud mom of 2 charming Autistic boys and a beautiful 21 1/2 month old name Jenesa. My husband and I tried for 7 years to become parents and were excited to find out were expecting our first son, Joshua in April of 2005. He couldn't wait and came at the end of March of that year. Then we figured we would have to try for several more years to have another child but needless to say and of course to our surprise then came our 2ND son Jeremiah in May of 2007. Left up to him he would have been a June baby. LOL! Then not trying or thinking about having any more kids for quite some time came along my precious pumpkin pie Jenesa in January 28, 2009. She is the most animated and outspoken child I have seen in a long time. She loves her big brothers, can be rough and tumble with them but is a girly girl. She has daddy wrapped around her fingers oh and his dimples too! She sings and dance. She thinks she is ready for school because he brothers go. She is my little baby doll! :)
