Vinegar works great for disinfecting floors and multiple surfaces but for laundry look for a green detergent such as stop and shop's organic detergent.

All you really need is borax, baking soda, and vinager. There are also "recipes" on the web for laundry soap and it ends up costing about $.01 per load. Check out this website
