My son is now one and I nursed him until he was 10 months and then we did formula. One day soon after that we ran out of formula and it was nap time so I just warmed up regular milk. He drank it and has done fine on it up until like three days ago. He refused his bottle; which is good and bad. He is really good at taking a sippy cup with a spout or straw and enjoys drinking out of a cup with out a lid while he's in his high chair as long as there is not milk in it. He will drink anything but milk and it doesn't matter what I try. I can warm it up, make it cold, try different cups, add sugar and vanilla, chocolate syrup, strawberry syrup and he will take one sip and your one shot is over for the next while because he knows what you are trying to do and won't take it after that. So I guess my question is: should I be worried, what can I try, do you have any magic tricks in your bag? He will take orange juice and gets some calcium that way, but I am just worried it's going to do him harm by not drinking milk. Please any advice would be so helpful.

i was about to suggest milkshake but seems you tried that now thats great as i've found that milkshake syrup also works with my little boy.
theres something called crusha which comes in different flavours such as strawberry, banana, chocolate .. its a milkshake syrup thing and you can add it to milk to make shakes .. got the chocolate flavour one for my little boy and he loves it! oh and before he had about an ounce of cows milk without spitting it out - cold without the chocolate!! =D only an ounce but its a start.

You can take a break from giving it to him, and at the same time give him other dairy & calcium rich foods/drinks. After a while, try giving him milk again. It sometimes takes many tries of letting a baby sample a food/drink until they like it!

Thanks for your suggestions. We are still having issues, but we are able to get him now to drink milk if is with alot of strawberry syrup. Even then he doesn't drink a whole lot. We thought we could do that and do a little less of the syrup every couple of days, but he doesn't even care that much for the strawberry milk full strength, but we are also doing the yogurt and cheeses. Also if you are looking for a little extra calcium; that Simply Orange orange juice brand has 35% of you daily intake of calcium for an adult. My little one would drink that all day long if I let him. So that helps too. Thank you again for your encouragement and advice.

i'm having a similar problem at the moment.. my son won't drink cows milk .. unless its hot chocolate. which isn't exactly gonna be good for him all of the time!
so he's on toddler growing up formula .. he was fine at first used to wolf down a 7-8oz bottle. but now i struggle to get him drink a full bottle .. i'm lucky if he'll drink 4-5oz and very very very lucky if he'll finish the bottle. the proble is he only has one bottle a day so it is a bit worrying.
i'm trying make him about 4-5oz in the morning put 4oz in his porridge and the same at night (he has porridge for supper and he's started having a couple oz of milk every now and then in the evening.
though its very rare he'll finish both his bottle and porridge!!
i've never used to be worried as he's never been a major milk drinker but he'll wolf down his yogurts like theres no tomorrow .. so at least he's getting calcium that way .. but the problem is all he'll ever eat now (that i'm guarenteed (sp?) he'll finish the whole portion of) is pasta and yogurt!
so feed time is becoming a bit of struggle so i sympathise with you ladys.
maybe its just cuz they are toddlers now and toddlers are usually VERY fussy eaters! so lets not worry too much.

My friend's baby who is 14 months old doesn't like milk anymore either since he stopped breastfeeding. His mom tries to add milk to everything he eats. When she makes soup, she adds some milk for example.
Just a suggestion.
