Not rolling or giggling.

My son is now six months old. He never rolled over until he was almost 5 months old. he to hated being on his belly and would scream if we tried it. But he eventually did roll over. Also about the giggling my son started to giggle around the same time he started rolling over. Just give you baby time he will pick up on it. I always worried and then all the sudden he's do it. I don't think it is something you should be too concerned about just yet. My 5 month old rolls over and giggles but my 4 year old did not sit up as well until after he started crawling. I think that the rolling over you just have to give it time and practice. The giggling may have to do with his personality or might just be delayed. I think the safest bet is talking to your pediatrician. I don't think he or she would be concerned after later. A lot of times we all get caught up in the expectations that we have for our babies at our certain age or time but they have to develop at their own speed sometimes.

My daughter just turned 5 months and doesn't roll yet.My son didn't roll until he was about 5 1/2 months.She will get to her side and that is it.We do tummy time(even though after about 5 mintues she has had enough) and she seems less interested in rolling then.She does well moving from her back to side but anything on her tummy she just looks like a beached whale..LOL...don't worry your little one will catch on soon enough!

My son was not interested what so ever in rolling over at 4 mnths, he is now 4mnths and 4weeks and only last week i found him trying to roll over but has not managed to as yet but he did a few times roll from his tummy to his back because he hates tummy time, just give him time and encourage him to do so, my husband constantly rolls my son over and we hooray him letting him know its a exciting thing now he tries every chance he gets..

I have to be really honest, My little girl is 4.5 months now and i think i only put her on her tummy like 6 times at the most because she hated it, but last week all of a sudden she just rolled, and now LOVES her tummy. now everytime i put her down to play on the floor or bed or anywhere, she rolls on her tummy. I think they just want to do it when they feel comfortable : )

My son hated tummy time too. But i would lie on the couch and put him on my tummy and he liked that. It helped too if would lie on the floor in front of him.

Don't forget that you can do tummy time on you. Put the baby tummy down onto your chest and sing and talk to him to get him to look up at your face. I always found that this is the easiest way to work on getting the baby to strengthen his neck, arm and shoulder muscles. You're your baby's most fascinating toy.

i break up tummy time i herd it is recommended 30 minutes a day so we do it in 5 minute increments or 10 which ever he stands. what i try and do is put different things in front of him withpatternts and very bright colors on it down and then i also lay down on the floor and and close to his face and talk to him. it has helped a lot. but my daughter didn't like tummy time much either and she craweled for two weeks and began walking she walked at 8 months

My baby girl is 4.5 months and isn't rolling over all the way either. Don't worry, it will happen with time, sometimes it takes longer than others every child is different

my little one is just over 4 months and she can only roll side to side she cant roll over from her back to tummy yet. use a nursing pillow. prop them up on it. i found doing that for a couple of weeks helped. it took alot of pressure off her tummy and then she began to enjoy it.

hang in there. My little guy hated tummy time and often would just lay there. Then suddenly he started getting really active, scooting and trying to roll. they all have their own time table. I find getting on the floor with him helps as well as putting a blanket under the play mat to make it a bit more cushioned.

My LO just rolled over for the first time on Friday. She is 4.5 mo. I was starting to think she never would because she hates tummy time. I think that he will just all of a sudden roll one day when you are least expecting it! Just keep trying with the tummy time a few minutes at a time!

Hi! My littlone one is not rolling over either and also hates tummy time. I think I have got one or two giggles out of him even though he smiles all of the time! I dread tummy time too actually as there is always a ton of spitting up and frustration... Maybe they will go right to walking...lol :)

Thanks for that. I am not to concerned. But because I don't have himm on his tummy often, I wonder if he will be a little behind on the rolling and crawling down the track.
I have also noticed a flat spot on his head. Everyone tells me "more tummy time will fix it". But as I am sure you understand all to well, its easier said then done.

To try to get him to spend more time on his tummy (and enjoy it), I am getting a 'Spin & Explore Garden Gym'. I really hope it encourages him to spend more time on his belly.

My baby is not rolling all the way over either, only onto her side. She doesn't really care for tummy time. Everything I have read has suggested tummy time for rolling, but I guess I will just have to wait for her to do it in her own time. I know this doesn't really give you a solution, but just know that your baby is not the only one, & I think that every baby has their own timetable and as long as it doesn't get too far from what milestone everyone says they are supposed to have reached than I wouldn't worry too much.
