I am now planning my first baby's 1st birthday party and I am super excited! I'm just wondering what theme you all are planning to do. I am doing Word World which is an awsome show on PBS, I had to order everything online because I can't find anything in stores with that theme. And how much is a good amount to spend on a birthday party? I'm new at this baby birthday party thing and I tend to go overboard on buying stuff......

Hey don't feel pressurized. If you don't want to choose any popular character theme for your baby's birthday party, that’s fine. You can consider a simple theme such as jungle safari party or maybe a balloon party.

well i dont exactly have a particular theme as he doesnt understand it too much as yet but i do have a wonderful plan i am organising. mind you he is also my first baby and its his very first bday so i like to go all out.

He is turning 1 on the 30th of Jan. I have hired a big pergola in a reserve with a playground right next to the pergola, i will be having BBQ and drinks with about 50 ppl including kids and adults, i have also booked a party host that will be doing face painting and animal baloons and games with the kids for 2 hours and the Bday boy gets a special present from them for just $220(that is for 20 kids, its $170 for 15 kids). i will also have lollie bags for the kiddies, As for my cake well my sons name is Jet so i will be getting a custom made cake of a Jet. All this should end up costing me about $1000 maybe a tad more but not less which i think is very worth it since its hist 1ST BDAY :)

I'm new at it too. I am doing Minnie Mouse for her birthday. She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so I figured I would do the Minnie Mouse portion because Mickey Mouse seems like a boy theme. Anywho, I figured I would do all the theme plates and stuff for the kids attending the party, and pick a color out of the theme for the adults attending for napkins and plates and cups. That's one way to look at it if you plan on having alot of ppl attending. I wanted to go all out on the decorations like balloons and streamers and centerpieces. I also am going to have treat boxes but I'm going to have a pinata so I will not be putting candy in the treat boxes, just some of the favor toys.
