Does anyone have their baby in a toddler bed? What is the appropriate time to put them in one??

We started with my daughter at 15 months but we just took the side off the crib and then er put her in a real toddler bed at 18 months because we had another one on the way and we needed the crib now she is almost three and in a twin size bed doing fine.....We might wait a little longer with our second though not to sure yet! Good luck what ever you decide

My son is sleeping on a mattress on the floor as the crib scares him. He does toss and turn alot and he falls a couple of inches instead of off a bed. I am planning on getting him a toddler bed since he does not like his crib

We transitioned our daughter at 18 months and we wish we'd waited a bit longer. We had some trouble with her getting up and coming out in the middle of the night for a while, probably until closer to 20 months or so (after lots of training!). With our son we're planning to wait until he's closer 20 months or so simply because we have another baby on the way...unless he decides to start climbing out of the crib. I've known so many people that have had to move their kids out of their cribs just because of them climbing out or falling, etc. I'd say you know your child and you know how well they respond to training, so it's up to you when you feel it's time. I think it's probably going to take some training to get them to stay in their beds all night long no matter when you transition them.

I just put my 1 year old into a toddler bed....Once they are climbing out of there crib it's only safe to start putting them into a toddler bed. I know my son got his leg caught in between the rails as he was climbing out and it scared me enough to put him in a toddler bed.

my son is tall. the crib states that on the lowest setting it should be above the nipples/armpits. the toddler bed is meant for 15months and older. I tested the toddler bed with him (i have a bed rail on it) to see how he did. he loved it. He even sleeps most nights in it all night long!!!

i have a 4 year old son and i did not put him in a toddler's bed until he was 2.my other son is just turning one and i'm going to wait until he is 2 before i take him out of his crib.there is no rush to put a baby in a toddler's bed.as a matter of fact i would not feel safe unless the child is two years old before i put him in a toddler's bed.
