Using the potty in public?

My daughter does great using her little potty at home, she uses it every time and doesn't even need pull ups at night! But whenever we leave the house I have to put one on her because she doesn't tell me when she has to potty! (at home her potty is in the kitchen so she doesn't have to depend on me to get her there. But she will still tell be sometimes before she goes) Also we spend a lot of time at home we are a 1 car family I work days my husband works nights and we live about 5 miles from town. Any advice?

I would move her potty to the bathroom and work on getting her to tell you she has to go without you asking or taking her.

I would also remind her before leaving the house that if she has to go potty that the store has a potty for her to use and for her to tell you. Even though my daughter has been potty trained since 20 months, I remind her whenever we go somewhere that if she has to go while out to let me know.

Sometimes I think they are unsure if there is anywhere for them to go potty. They are only 2, so if out and about they have no idea where a potty is unless we tell them.

hi all i do when im out is make sure she goes to the toilet when ever there is one available so go toilet before i do a big shop and go after the shop is finished i dont wait for her to tell me when i am out were as at home she goes all by herself not help at all if you dont hav a toilet available to you i always carry a second potty in the car great for long trips hope this was helpful :)

Mine is totally freaked about sitting on the toilet without a potty seat. No way to get her to on. I bought a fold up training seat with Dora on it that she is excited about. I then ask her if she needs to use her "special Dora seat" continuously. It is working so far but we still have accidents at home as well sometimes.
