My son will soon be 11 months old, I want him off the bottle BY the time he is 1. I've tried putting formula in a sippy for now, he'll take a sip then quit drinking it. He does, however, seem to drink it better when it's cold. What have you found is the best way to do this?

Hey my son too was VERY difficult with his sippy. We went through four diffrent sippys before we found one. He likes the straw sippys. Why dont you try those. If it is too hr with the stopper take out the stopper. My son was drinking from a straw in June. He loves his sippy. He might just be picky, my son was it took 6 diffrent binkies to findone he liked and he hardly used that thing. Just keep trying, and if it happens after he turns one who cares. You know by now they do things on there own terms. Just wait it out. Also try diffrent things in there to get him used to it. Good luck :)

My baby wouldn't drink milk from a sippy cup as it came out to fast, i also had to try a different bottle as it came out to fast from that to. He tried 5 different kinds of formula before he decided he liked one of them. Also maybe you could mix your breast milk with the formula and maybe get someone else to give it to him as he can smell the breast milk on you.

Quoting Amanda:

i found that getting the sippy cupps that have the soft top(training cups) works so that they really havent realized that they are not drinking from a bottle, and once u see that he likes those you can also start giving him the hard top sippies. My son is fixing to be 11 months on the 13th and my mom gives him bottles at her house but i only use cuppies, so it just depends on what you can find that he likes.

Well, his first sippies were the Nuby ones with the soft top. He got to the point where he wanted to chew on them & pull them on his newly found teeth, so I tried the Gerber Graduates ones with the hard spout. He does great from them...but he just won't drink milk from them. Hell take a sip, then look at it like "Why is this in a cup and not a bottle?!" But if I put juice in it, he can suck it all down in one sitting! I just need to get him 'used' to drinking milk from a cup...
