My daughter was born 4 kg / 52 cm and now she is 2 month and 1 week and she is 62 cm and 6.5 kg and she is having only my breast milk ... She is wearing 6-9 month :) Why are you worried ! They who say we have big babies envy us so just be proud :D

My daughter was 7lbs at birth and a little on the long side. She was last weighed at 6.5 weeks and was 11lbs 11.5 oz then...now she's 8.5 weeks old and I'm sure she's got to be well over 13lbs now! She is also formula fed and is about 24.5 inches long. Seems like he's on track to me :)

My son is 12lbs 4oz, today at his 2 month check up (he is actually almost 10 weeks) but the doc told me he is only in the 25th percentile of babies his age, so I think you are fine :) I know it was crazy for me to think he was already 12 pounds lol! Is you baby long? Mine is 23 inches already so he is really long too, which I think is why people are always commenting on how big he is. I know how annoying that can be (I heard that with my oldest son too) but try to just take a deep breath then someone says it and let it go in one ear and out the other :)

my boy is 9weeks old and he weighs 10lb 14oz,he isnt chubby but hes very long and people think hes 4/5 months old-he weighed 7lb 4oz when he was born so i think it depends on his birth weight.if your not sure ask your health visitor, she should know or look in your red book at the centile line-i think they stay on the same line but im not sure about this

Formula does not have more calories than breast milk, it has 20 calories per ounce which is the same. Babies typically have a higher intake of formula because you are controlling their volume intake vs. the baby being in control when nursing.

My daughter is 2 months old, and is 12 pounds 13 ounces and 23 inches. If the doctor didn't say anything about the babies weight then I wouldn't let the nurse work you up! My daughter was barley 7 pounds at 8 months and she is healthy!

Haha- Thanks for the kind words Jessie!! The worst part about it is that she told me I should think about watering down my sons formula?!?!? I couldn't imgaine doing that to a growing 9 week old baby for no medical reason!!! Needless to say I was far from impressed!
It's nice to hear so much wonderful feedback & adivce everyone has left me on this topic!! Thanks again everyone :)

My breastfed daughter was 13 lbs 1 oz at her 8 week well check...I think their weight has a lot to do with how much they weighed when they were born. DD was 9lbs 15oz at birth. She's in the 97% for weight and off the charts for her height.
Maybe the nurse was complimenting you on having a good eater! Keep up the good work momma!

My son was 5.2 kg (11.5lbs) at 8 weeks. According to our charts issued by our government (South Africa) - he is average (slightly on the bigger side of average - but within the average range). And yes, formula fed babies do pick up weight faster in general. My pead also told me that I must demand feed, and as long as he picks up weight, its fine!!! He said he wouldnt worry about weight until the age of 2yrs. Dont let the nurse get you down!!! Babies also slow down with weight gain when they become mobile (crawling and walking), so dont stress - I'm not!!!

My little girl is 14lb 9ozs at 7 and a half weeks old (she was born 9lb 6oz) and the midwife wasn't worried as she is a long baby too. I'd try not to worry about it.
oliver is a long baby too!!
he was born at 7lb 13oz .. seems like a baby giant now!!!!

my little boy is 7weeks old .. not had him weighed since he was 6 weeks (hv didn't bring the scales on thursday) and he was 11lb 1oz then!! so he's probably bigger than your baby!!
he is formula fed as well .. had him on the hungrier baby stuff .. but hv told me to try and put him back on the normal formula as by the time he's about 3mnths he'll want more and theres nothing else to give him so i've put him back on the original c&g now.

Thanks everyone :)
And he was considered a big baby, he was born at 36 weeks gestation and was 6lbs 5oz, they figured he would have been WELL over 8 lbs if he was full-term. Yes, I have heard that about formula fed babys aswell, i'll keep that in mind because he is formula fed and has been for a few weeks. Thanks again for putting my mind at ease everyone!

My baby book says 10 3/4 pounds - so he is good - was he big at birth? That makes a difference. Formula fed babies sometimes gain weight faster than breastfed babies because the formula has more calories. Don't let the nurse get you worked up - I am sure he is fine!
And cute too!
