Quoting Abigail:

My daughter eats strictly breast milk. We let her lick strawberries and peaches. I will probably introduce some food soon, but still breastfeed for her main source of food.

How old is she?  My son is 7 months & also still on b/milk, but he likes to play with a peeled banana & biltong (dried meat, think in USA it's called beef jurkey)

My daughter is 7 months and 18 days old  :o) She stares at us while we eat and we feel bad but we know my milk is the best for her. We might dip our finger in some food and let her lick it off but hats about it.

Emma just turned 7 months on the 29th. We've had her on baby food since 4 months. She is currently on the 2nd stage food for Earth's Best Organics and eats pretty much any of it! I've slowly started introducing real solids, such as watermelon in those little mesh contraptions to that she doesn't choke. We've also been giving her the Gerber Puffs since they dissolve quickly....good way for her to start figuring out how to mash her food (with her gums, no teeth yet), without worrying about her choking.

My kid won't eat much baby food either. She'll eat a few bites and then clamp her mouth closed. I figure that she'll get it eventually. I mean, I'm not going to nurse her forever! :)

We tried making his own baby food, but he really hates mashed and mushy foods. So after I took a "how to feed your baby" class, we tried watermelon, potatoes, carrots, chicken, peas, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, pasta, multi grain cheerios and egg yolks. So far, he just hates the carrots and potatoes. LOVES watermelon and the cheerios.

My daughter turned 7 months on the 12th. she eats mostly raw fruits and veggies, blueberries, banana, nectarines, thinly sliced apple, carrots, peas, cantaloupe, watermelon, honey dew, avocado, jicama, cucumber. She also likes whole wheat bread, pasta, and some meat, like turkey, chicken and ham. she is mostly a self feeder.

does she have teeth? when is it ok to let them self feed like that my son is 7 1/2 months but just getting is 2nd tooth

My son has ben self feeding from 7 1/2 months. He still has no teeth but refuses to eat pureed food and dosen't like us feeding him much with the spoon so he has wholemeal bread sandwiches for lunch cut into fingers (no crust) with cheese spread and ham or tuna. I also give him chunks of tomato, cucumber, cheese etc then i feed him a small tub of yoghurt. Dinner he has big chunks of well cooked vegies such as brocolli, carrots, potato, sweet potato and some meat such as fish, chicken & steak either grated of cut into long thin bits he can hold and munch on. I also mash some and try to give him a couple of spoon fulls during his dinner. I was having alot of trouble feeding him and meal times either ended in me crying or him crying so the chlid health nurse suggested this and it has worked a treat. You do of course have to be careful they don't choke but the nurse advised they will gag on there food...all part of the learing process.

My boy is cutting his 2 bottom teeth, he's 7 months one week old and i give him homemade apple, banana, pear, spinach, sweet potato, carrot, pumpkin, zuchinni, peas, rice, avocado, custard, yoghurt, have the occasional store bought food, but he hates heinz meals - he dry reaches, he only likes store bought desserts. I'm still breastfeeding him 4 times a day but will wean him after the peak of his attachment (9 months) onto formula and try to give it to him in a sippy cup. He drinks plenty of water from a sippy cup now so hopefully will take his milk feeds from it in a couple of months. I mix infant formula into his custard when I make it up just to get him used to the taste, and partly because I'm too lazy to express LOL...

I like to take it slow with their digestive tract. We are doing stage2 baby food, fresh fruit, rice, some steamed veggies as an introduction, cheerios (only twice), and soft cinnamon pretzel as a treat.

my son is 7 and 1/2 months and he eats jar food... anything that says 6+ on the jar or he even started the 8+ jars with the little chunks in them. he still has formula in a bottle too usually with every meal.

My 7month old eats everything we eat andf if you don't give it to him or give him baby food he gets mad. The only thing I've found that he doesn't like is spaghetti sauce.

My daughter is 7 months and a few days old. We are just starting to try second foods. I use the gerber organics. She seems to like just about anything...except the turkey and sweet potatoes we tried the other day. She eats all kinds of fruits and veggies though, including prunes! We haven't tried any solid foods yet. My pediatrician did say we could try cheerios that she could gum over the next month or so, but I don't know when you're supposed to start that. She was born a month early, so she is more like a 6 month old for some things and she doesn't have any teeth yet.

My 7 mnth girl loves her homemade puree veges of pumpkin, sweet potato, zucchini, spinach beans etc. Fruits are 2nd fave but she favours mashed banana in yoghurt and puree avacado. Porridge or farex for breakfast. ive just started giving her small bits of soggy toast and soft bread with vegemite which she loves too.

My son just turned 7 months and still nurses every 1 1/2 hrs. At 6 months I started him on solids and this week he has moved to 3 small meals a day. So far he has had prunes, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, raspeberries, apples, pears, guavas, mangos, blueberries, oatmeal, peaches, pumpkins, green beans, plums and carrots. I have a list of other fruits and veg we will be trying soon too. These are all in a pureed version, and he is eating stage 2. I am taking it slow, which I think is much better than rushing things. My ped. recommended meats after 8 months.

My daughter eats #2 baby foods...fruits and veggies. For breakfast she usually has baby cereal and for snacks she likes those puff things that I bought at Wal-Mart.

I've just started making my own babyfood. I noticed all the leftover veggies from our meals, and started to blend them up. His favorites are definitely apples and green beans. Not together of course. But, he has had all the fruits and veggies the store offers in a jar. He also enjoys wheat bread, pizza crust and corn on the cob. I haven't started any meats yet. I feel like it is still too early.

Whatever we eat :) His favorite is steak and breadsticks though. He liked apples a lot too but he only had those once.

For Solid solid food he gets cheerios, watermelon, cantelope that he self feeds. I havent dare try to many solid solid foods yet because he has no teeth and i am so scared he is going to choke.
