OKay... I'm ready to give up. My son's nearly 3 1/2 and I can't get him to poop in the toilet to save my life. We've tried everything. We started at about 20 months, he was doing fairly well, except for the poop. His pediatrician said it was way too early and to stop worrying about it. We put it off until he was 2, and have been trying ever since. We've bought videos, books, made a treasure chest with little toys, stickers, a sticker wall where he puts a star every time he goes, candy, ice cream, park trips, reading to him while he sits there... I've literally tried EVERYTHING. He just finished sitting on the toilet for 6 hours because a friend of mine said make them sit there until they go. He went pee plenty but absolutely refuses to poop. I'm a stay at home mom, there isn't a lack of consistency because I'm always here, but man am I tired of this. Not to mention, I have a twenty month old that's going to start potty training soon.
To add to the issue, my 3 1/2 year old has "toddlers diarrhea". He's literally had maybe five solid poops ever. Going without a diaper or pull up isn't an option.
I would LOVE any suggestions that anyone has. I'm starting to wonder if there's some sort of professional I can bring in to do this for me.
