Does everyone have a tough kid to potty train?

You know the kind. Think he's got it, then pees in your bed. Poops his pants at breakfast. Has the entire roll of toilet paper laid out on the floor. My first boy was waaaaay easier than this!

My daughter she was so easy! But her twin brother on the other hand thats a different story. He's gotten pretty good about going pee in the potty but its like he's terrified to go poop in the potty, i dont get it? I was told to try infant suppositors until he figures out that its ok and doesnt hurt, anyone have a baby scared of pooping in the potty?

Ha ha - sounds like my son Mariela but you have to remember he probably is 'surprised' by it. You have to remember that it is only around this age (or younger/older depending on the kid) that they are able to control their bowels...so often I think they 'go' before they even realise it. We have our 'good days' and our 'bad days' and is frustrating when one day he uses the potty all day but then the next none at all....aggggh. This is when I have to try and be patient (eeek not one of my strong points) and realise that he will get there eventually :)

my little girl was dry day and night but has a problem with her bowels so has to still where pull ups. sometimes she still wets in it . it dont help when people call them a baby for wearing pull ups. tell them what a big girl or boy they are and if they are starting play school tell them only big girls/boys can go to play school.

i actualy thought it would be harder than it was, but turned out easier with my son one i reckon it makes a difference if they get to watch you on the toilet, i would say mummy doing wee wee's then say does adrian need to do wee wee's? and just keep talking to them and reminding them. i first tried when he was 2 but not interested, then 2 month's later i tried again and just started to put him on the potty inbetween wearing the nappy, he learned very quick it took another month to do poo's but then he took to it like clock work you just need to be consinstent and give them rewards even a big hug of excitment is all it takes. it only took him 4-5 months to fully train bye the age of 2 1/2, yeah we stil have a few accidents now and then but that's just because he's been over exccited playing or had a big drink in the middle of the night but they are rare but good luck with it it's so good when you don't need to buy nappies.

My daughter is really tough I think she like her diaper way too much. I tried the potty training whe she had a dry diaper in the morning, then when I see her trying to poop in her diaper I tell her to go to the bathroom but I have to help her on the toilet I tell her to stay there til she goes poop and she does but she never does it by herself I always have to tell her and help her.
