My son is 2 and he wakes up so thirsty in the middle of the night. He wakes up crying for his sippy cup and as soon as I give it to him he knocks right out. Im tired of being woken up 2-3 times a night... I know alot of it is I made that mistake of letting him sleep in my bed everynight! But is there any tips/tricks to getting him to sleep through the night, or in his own bed? Thank you

Konnor still sorta wakes at night too. He sleeps with me. We have a routine now that his brothers are in school. He's in bed between 8 & 9 & we're up between 6 & 7. Sometimes he'll nap around 9 or 10 AM & then maybe in the afternoon. If he doesn't nap he'll go to bed as early as 6:30. He is my first to night sleep well from birth on. I have 2 older boys who were always good at sleeping through the night.

My lil girl is the same. She sleeps in our bed and also wakes up a few times still asking for her sippy. She drinks a lil then passes out. We have absolutly no routine. UGH! I know we need to set one in place cause she is just miserable. I can't figure ou tho how to get one started. Any ideas? What is a typical day for you? Thanks

My MAggie is 2 & she still wakes up for milk as well & I feel bad not to give it to her cause she eats like a bird. However I even thought about giving her some kind of starch before she goes to bed maybe she will be full & sleep allnight.

My son is the same way, after reading what Monique wrote though, I feel like it might be something to try. My son has never been a good sleeper, not since we brought him home, but I am willing to try anything. Thanks.

My daughter did that for about 2 months, I was like a zombie! Sometimes she would wake up because it was hunger (she would actually ask for milk), sometimes it was a nightmare (where she would wake up crying), sometimes she would just wake up for no apparent reason and would just call me (over the monitor....ma-ma, ma-ma, maaaa-maaaa...lol)

I always made sure to make her sleep in her bed. The only thing I can tell you by experience is that sometimes you have to "suck it up and be tough" let them cry for a little while (now that your boy is 2 years old about 5 minutes is fine) if they don't like to sleep in their bed, the other technique that works is the one Super Nanny (Jo Frost) uses, you sit in their bedroom, looking away from them, don't talk to them, if they get up, lay them back down without a peep and just wait for your baby to fall asleep, it takes a little while at first, once they relax and understand you are gonna stay there (at least until they fall asleep) they will calm down....Also, there are times they just want company until they fall asleep. Make sure you have a routine established. No routine equals very agitated sleep for my little girl. Even if you skip a bath, make sure you keep most of the routine predictable such as a book or snuggle time.
