My son was born on the second of July. He's wonderful! He's such a talker and he's so active. Looking briefly at the topics of the threads, I'll say here that he's only just recently started sleeping all the way through the night (from 8pm to around 6am). Yes, he still drools. He has 10 teeth -- four on the bottom front, four on the top front, and one lower molar on each side of his mouth. He is breastfed and he never would take a bottle so yes, he still nurses 2-3 times a day (when he wakes in the am, when he wakes from his nap, and occasionally he needs to nurse at night before he goes to bed). We're trying to wean him completely by 18 months. He's doing very well with it.
Um. . . what else? I've been told that he's very advanced for his age. But that's pretty normal for a first child, right? I don't know how many words he says now, but he used 14 words regularly when he was 10 months old. I haven't been able to keep track of how many since then because he keeps adding more all the time.
Tonight when we were getting in the car to go home from my sisters house he pointed up to the sky and said "sky." I said yes, that is the sky. It was dark outside, so I wasn't particularly surprised when he said "star." That's right! I said. Those are stars. Then he shocked me by singing "twinkle, twinkle, twinkle, twinkle, staaaaaaaarrrr. Up bahbuv dewood (garble garble garble) high. . . twinkle twinkle twinkle twinkle twinkle star!"
He loves to dance and to play outside. Books are a particular favorite. Especially "Hop on Pop." He loves that silly book. Even though it's a board book it's completely ragged and shaggy around the edges from all the times he's "read" it on his own or begged us to read it for him again (and again).
What kinds of things do your July babies like to do?
