My son was born on the second of July. He's wonderful! He's such a talker and he's so active. Looking briefly at the topics of the threads, I'll say here that he's only just recently started sleeping all the way through the night (from 8pm to around 6am). Yes, he still drools. He has 10 teeth -- four on the bottom front, four on the top front, and one lower molar on each side of his mouth. He is breastfed and he never would take a bottle so yes, he still nurses 2-3 times a day (when he wakes in the am, when he wakes from his nap, and occasionally he needs to nurse at night before he goes to bed). We're trying to wean him completely by 18 months. He's doing very well with it.

Um. . . what else? I've been told that he's very advanced for his age. But that's pretty normal for a first child, right? I don't know how many words he says now, but he used 14 words regularly when he was 10 months old. I haven't been able to keep track of how many since then because he keeps adding more all the time.

Tonight when we were getting in the car to go home from my sisters house he pointed up to the sky and said "sky." I said yes, that is the sky. It was dark outside, so I wasn't particularly surprised when he said "star." That's right! I said. Those are stars. Then he shocked me by singing "twinkle, twinkle, twinkle, twinkle, staaaaaaaarrrr. Up bahbuv dewood (garble garble garble) high. . . twinkle twinkle twinkle twinkle twinkle star!"

He loves to dance and to play outside. Books are a particular favorite. Especially "Hop on Pop." He loves that silly book. Even though it's a board book it's completely ragged and shaggy around the edges from all the times he's "read" it on his own or begged us to read it for him again (and again).

What kinds of things do your July babies like to do?

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

HI, my daughter was born on the 17th of july and is my third child i have girl 6, boy 4, girl 16 n half months. She is absolutely beautiful a very bright little girl. She still nurses up to 4 times a day and i am trying to stop the feeds through the night to incourage her to sleep through. It is slowly working , she has just last week gone into a big bed in her room (shared with her older sister) which is good she seams to wake less ofter.
She to has always refused a bottle which is making weaning harder and she has never wanted to give up the breast for food either.
I just today had to work out how many words she can say for her speech path and health nurse and she say upwards of 85 words which is great because my son does alot of the talking for her! Her newest interests are singing songs, playing "mum" to dolls (she pretends to breast feed them), dancing and she has just learned to catch a ball.
Well she is due to wake up any minute now so i must go and quickly wash up some dishes have fun with your little man.

Gosh, I just read that post over. I sound like a gushing braggart. Please forgive me for being so effusive in my excitement. I love him so much and my husband and I are so proud! We're both older first time parents (me - 30s, him- 40s) so it's still pretty wonderfully exciting for us. Forgive me?
