I'm new here. My son is 17 months old and is refusing to eat almost everything except for Corn Pops and Cheerios. He used to eat anything and everything in sight and now when I try to feed him "real" food, I get met with "no no no"

anyone else going through this? and does there seem to be an end in sight?

Hey Lisa! My Chloe is also 17 months and has ALWAYS been an excellent eater... until now lol. Unlike your little guy she could live off grapes and cheese. I used to be really anal about routines and meals etc but I was just so frustrated with her not eating I've thrown all my rules out the window and basically let her eat whenever but only from a few options. I don't worry as much about when she eats or how much she eats as opposed to WHAT she eats. I've also worked hard on giving her new foods to find something she likes so she now loves hummus with 12 grain bread and brie cheese also on bread!! As long as she's getting all her nutrients and is growing well I don't worry. This is just a phase and can go on for quite a while but I've always fed her everything and didn't introduce sugar until about 15 months so even now sweets to her are fruit and she loooves her fruit. I'm not sure if I've helped you at all but bottom line as long as he's growing well, it's a phase so just give in or you'll go nuts. I've also learnt that the perfect meal isn't always the traditional meat potatoes and veggies. Bananas and peanut butter pose as carbs and protein at the same time while V8 or some carrots can be the veggies and baloney the meat!
