Arr thank you Tania, i will give it a go - not sure my partner is going to enjoy it!!
what do i do if he come's into my room crying?? do i put him in bed with me to settle him or take him back to his own bed and let him go back to sleep cold turkey??

I will try your advice tomorrow night, gonna sike myself up first!! ha ha

Don't give him the juice. I struggle with my son to stop asking for milk at night. Until I stoped giving it to him. HE cried for about two nights and the third he slept thru the night. Be patient and when you start make sure you are ready to not sleep for about few nights because of the crying but he will be fine. It's a learned behavior so he will also learn that you won't give him the juice in the middle of the night. Make sure he is fed good for dinner and have a small snack before bedtime.
