Im trying to get my 6 month old son to take milk out of a bottle so I can cut back on breastfeeding a bit more. He has solids for lunch and dinner, and will have a sip of water out of one of his training cups but wont let a bottle enter his mouth.

What bottles are you using? We used the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature ones with a variflow teat as they are the closest to a breast and she took to them fine when I could no longer breastfeed.

Try some different bottles. One of my children switched from breast to a Playtex nurser with the drop in bag. This baby has a prefrence for just a regular old gerber bottle. I find the nipples are usually the issue. I always use the slowest flow, because a breast fed baby is use to being in control of the flow. With most bottles its to much at once. The gerber or nuk nipples with the 3 holes instead of one, are the ones that 3 of my four kids used. I had the one that would only drink from the playtex. You have to try out different ones, and if all else fails I let mine drink from a cup. Its messy, but it works when nothing else will. By the way, have you given him anything other than breast milk from the bottle? formula might be worth the try.
