Hi, I'm wondering if I'm feeding my Dtr right. We seem to be doing ok but everyday at every meal i stare at her for who knows how long wondering what to give her. She's a great eater and I know she supposed to get what we eat but my husband and I don't sit down to dinner and I wouldn't feed my preacious baby the crap we eat.

We do breakfast: 4 oz of formula then some of the following. water, eggs, pancakes, various fruit & berries, yogurt, cottage cheese, applesauce.

2 hrs later 6 oz bottle

lunch: water, chicken nuggets, fish sticks, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, green beans, cheese sandwich, pasta w/ butter and shredded parm, various fruit and 4 oz bottle

2 hrs later 6 oz bottle

dinner: same as lunch maybe some pizza, or hotdog water. sometimes a 4 oz bottle not usually

2 hrs later 6 oz bottle be fore bed

all day long she snacks on animal crackers, nilla wafers and teddy grahms courtessy of DH ( not that many though)

It seems like a lot of food but she often doesn't eat much. what would you guys do for varity of meals and what for snack/ when?

thanks Amy

You seem to be doing fine! My husband is the pickyest eater ever, he eats like 5 things and thats it. So it hard to cook good meals sometimes. But my sons alomst 14 months, he doesnt drink formula anymore. For breakfast Ill do, toast and bananas, pancakes and cheeros, or applsauce and milk always. Lunch Ill make some kind of snandwich with fruit and milk. Then a snack, Graham crackers, cheese, teddys, things like that with juice (mixed with water). Then for dinner he'll have milk, then some kind of meat that I make, he loves pork chops, just cut up tiny, chicken, roast, hot dogs (but not that often), pasta, and always some veggies, I make mashed potateos but he doesnt eat them, but I give them to him just in case. And before bed Ill give him some water and crackers or chesse. Austins a little under weight right now, but the dr said its ok bc hes eating. So hope that helps!

you seem to be doing a great job! my daughter is the same way. some other things i feed her is : soup (watch the sodium content if it's canned it can be high) breakfast sausage, gerber has really nice microwavable meals when i just can't figure out what to give her. she likes most of them. (some even i wouldn't wanna eat) she really likes spaghetti or anything to do with noodles. rice, i can make it any way and she'll eat it. also brats she seems to prefer over hot dogs, with out the casing of course. keep up the good work :)

My daughter eats basically whatever we eat. For breakfast it could be any of the following- Frozen waffle or pancake, cereal (fruity cheerios, shreddies, all-bran strawberry bites, etc) yogourt, oatmeal, eggs and toast, fruit. For lunch she may have leftovers if there are any, a sandwich, soup, cheese and crackers, cucumber slices, chicken nuggets, etc. For dinner she eats whatever I make. That could range from various types of pasta (her fav), chicken, pork chops, fish, rice, potatos, all types of vegetables. We do have pizza nights occasionally, which she loves. Throughout the day she may snack on things such as Gerber puffs, Bear Paw cookies, any type of fruit (she hasn't met a fruit that she doesn't like), Baby Mum-Mum rice husks.

We do breakfast around 7 am. Lunch between 12 and 1. Dinner around 6pm. She is breastfed before I go to work around 8:30, before bed at 8pm and once during the night. During the day she has one to two bottles of wholemilk and as much water as she wants.

Sounds like you're doing an awesome job :) Once babies hit a certain age, they seem to shy away from "meals" and have more snacks a day. I say as long as they're eating they are fine. Ya know? My son will snack all day, and most of those snacks they eat [Teddy Grahams, Cheez-Its, Nilla Wafers, etc.] have nutrition in them as well. My son is on whole milk, but he is also one year old. He takes 8oz. but it's only like three times a day. And he's still tiny - but all babies are different and if you're really concerned, they make a variety of nutritional drinks [Nutri-pals, Pediasure, etc.] or consult your dr!
